Spots open in choral society
The Southern Nevada Musical Arts Choral Orchestra Society, now celebrating its 42nd season, is accepting members in the new year.
Rehearsals of the society's musical arts chorus will be 7 p.m.-9:30 p.m. Sunday evenings in UNLV's Alta Ham Fine Arts Building, Room 147.
There are openings in all voice parts. For more information, call Dr. Douglas R. Peterson at 451-6672.
Yellow Pages recycling urged
The publisher of the Sprint Yellow Pages is encouraging residents to recycle old editions as their 2005 phone directories arrive.
Residents may leave the outdated books on the curb in white recycling bins for Republic Services of Southern Nevada to pick up or take them to the Recycling Center at 333 West Gowan Road in North Las Vegas.
R.H. Donnelley publishes the phone directories, which are being delivered to valley homes through the end of the month.
For more information about recycling, call Republic Services at 735-5151.
