Letter: Dowd gets better with every read
Saturday, Dec. 3, 2005 | 8:07 a.m.
Having survived service in World War II -- and the conflicts in Korea and Vietnam, with 30 years of service in the U.S. Army -- I enjoyed reading Maureen Dowd's Dec. 1 column ("Plenty of reasons why Cheney wears a permanent scowl") in the Las Vegas Sun so much that I read it at least three times. Each time I was savoring each delicious word slowly and appreciating each syllable. The column should be mandatory reading for every American.
The column and the accompanying political cartoon, which is a gem itself, should be nominated for the Pulitzer Prize!
I enjoyed reading the entire column, particularly some parts, such as "How dare Murtha suggest that Cheney dodged and dodged and dodged and dodged and dodged the draft?" and "Now all these idiots are getting caught, even Scooter."
