Man was victim of road rage

The man who was shot and wounded near Decatur Boulevard and Lake Mead Boulevard on Wednesday morning apparently was a victim of road rage, Metro said on Thursday.

Just prior to being shot in the back, the victim reportedly had gotten into an argument about a block from the parking lot of the Carl's Jr. restaurant at 1991 Decatur Blvd. where he was found, said Lt. John Alamshaw of the Violent Crimes detail.

"It looks like a road rage incident," Alamshaw said.

After he was shot, the victim apparently drove to the Carl's Jr., restaurant, where he was found in the parking lot with the non-life threatening gunshot wound, Alamshaw said.

Police have not released the shooting victim's name.

Alamshaw said two tires on the victim's vehicle had been flattened, possibly by gunshots.

The victim was likely in a confrontation with the suspects and weapons were produced, but police were not sure who pulled out the gun, he said.

Metro could not provide any information about the suspects and is still investigating the shooting.
