Letter: Science verifies truths in Bible

The Bible and science are not at odds, as Dale Rough writes in the Aug. 19 Las Vegas Sun. The scientific law of entropy (everything in the universe is gradually deteriorating) is first found in the Bible (Romans 8:20-22, Psalm 102:25, 26) long before it was empirically verified under a microscope.
When you think about it, the law of entropy would seem to be a strong adversary to the theory of macroevolution (which teaches of one species developing into another species). If everything in the universe is gradually breaking down, how can it be said in the theory of Macroevolution that everything in the universe is continually evolving into a higher plane of existence, consciousness, and so forth?
The truth of light engaging in movement is found written thousands of years ago in Job 38:19, 20. Yet science only discovered the motion of light in the 1600s (with Newton and Huygens). Did this mean that light, before being verified by observation, did not move? Or did this mean that light has always moved and that God has long ago told us of light's motion, and that our scientific testing is merely catching up with the Bible?
If there is any contradiction regarding these two particular laws, the contradictions seem to be between science and macroevolution, not between science and the Bible.
Entropy, the movement of light, air having weight, the spherical Earth and its suspension in space are each scientific laws and truths that have been spoken of in the Bible long ago, yet have only been relatively recently verified by science.
