Jim Beatty

Jim Beatty, 65, of Las Vegas died Wednesday in a local health care center. He was born Aug. 25, 1939, in Salida, Colo. A resident for 10 years, he was a retired field engineer in the computer industry, a Vietnam War Air Force veteran, a former member of the Elks and Moose.

He is survived by his wife, Barbara; six sons, Fred Beatty of Petaluma, Calif., Glenn Beatty and Skip Beery, both of Las Vegas, Jimmy Beatty and Gene Hill, both of Bandon, Ore., and Michele Scibilia of Mililani, Hawaii; one daughter, Gina Scibilia of Reedsport, Ore.; one sister, Norma Daw of Big Sandy, Tenn.; and 19 grandchildren.

Services will be 2 p.m. Friday in Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave. Burial will follow in Palm Valley View Memorial Park.

The family suggests donations to the American Lung Association, 3375 Glen Ave., No. 7, Las Vegas, NV 89121, or the Pulmonary Fibrosis Foundation, 1332 N. Halstead St., Suite 201, Chicago, IL 60622.

Wayne Smith Clark

Wayne Smith Clark, 89, of Las Vegas died Sunday in a local hospital. He was born May 20, 1916, in Carson, Iowa. A resident for more than 20 years, he was a retired millwright for a metal extrusion tooling company and a member of the Elks.

He is survived by his wife, Genevieve; one son, Wayne A. Clark of Grand Junction, Colo.; two daughters, Dorothy Souther of Prescott, Ariz., and Christine M. Heckethorn of Whittier, Calif.; 23 grandchildren; and 19 great-grandchildren.

Services were Monday at Palm Mortuary, 7400 W. Cheyenne Ave.

Wayne Collins

Wayne Collins, 57, of Las Vegas died July 29 in Las Vegas. He was born Jan. 2, 1948, in Michigan. A resident for more than 30 years, he was a teamster at convention halls and a Vietnam War Air Force veteran.

He is survived by his wife, Bridgette M. Fisher; one son, Travis Collins of Las Vegas; and two daughters, Tiffany Collins of California and Nicole Collins of Las Vegas.

A memorial service will be 1-3 p.m. Saturday at the Eagles Lodge on East Washington Avenue. Graveside services will be in Arlington National Cemetery. Palm Mortuary, 1325 N. Main St., is handling arrangements.

Louis DeVincentis

Louis DeVincentis, 88, of Las Vegas died Monday in a local hospital. He was born May 28, 1917, in Brooklyn, N.Y. A resident for 11 years, he was a retired civil service supervisor for the federal government and a World War II Navy veteran.

He is survived by one son, Philip DeVincentis of Laguna Niguel, Calif.

Visitation will continue until 7 p.m. today and 2 p.m. to 7 p.m. Friday in Palm Mortuary, 7400 W. Cheyenne Ave. Services will be 10 a.m. Saturday in Palm Chapel, Cheyenne. Burial will follow in Palm Valley View Memorial Park, 7600 S. Eastern Ave.

Thomas F. Fitzharris

Thomas F. Fitzharris, 84, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in Las Vegas. He was born Jan. 19, 1921, in New York City. A resident for 57 years, he was a retired telephone company supervisor, a World War II Army veteran and a Korean War Air Force veteran.

He is survived by his wife, Beatrice; two daughters, Kristy Merrell of Jackson Hole, Wyo., and Cathy A. Dillon-Rubin of Las Vegas; one son, Robert Albertson of Maple Grove, Minn.; and one grandchild.

Palm Mortuary, 7400 W. Cheyenne Ave., is handling arrangements.

Lorraine C. Jameson

Lorraine C. Jameson, 86, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in Las Vegas. She was born May 6, 1919, in Hinckley, Utah. A resident for many years, she was an assistant manager.

She was preceded in death by nine children; four brothers; and three sisters.

She is survived by one son, Richard; one sister, Penny Maughan; nine grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.

Visitation is scheduled 11 a.m. Saturday in the LDS Christy Lane Ward, 1775 N. Christy Lane. Burial will follow in Woodlawn Cemetery.

Jharel Lamont Marshall

Jharel Lamont Marshall, 10, of Las Vegas died Monday in Las Vegas. He was born March 29, 1995, in Nevada.

He is survived by his parents, Jody and Elena L. Marshall, and one sister, Jhatara Marshall, all of Las Vegas; one brother, Edison Platt of Salt Lake City; his grandparents, Thelma and Cornelius Mitchell, Betty Harris-Wilkerson and Marvin Wilkerson, all of Las Vegas; his godmother, Mary Lee Hannon of Las Vegas; his godfather, Gerald Bean of Salt Lake City; and his great-grandparents, Clara Hylton of Illinois and Henry Marshall of Indiana.

Visitation is scheduled 3-7 p.m. Friday in Calvary Southern Baptist Church, 1600 E. Cartier Ave., North Las Vegas. Services will be noon Saturday in Pilgrim Rest Missionary Baptist Church, 1240 W. Adams Ave. Burial will follow in Eden Vale Memorial Park. Thomas and Jones Funeral Home, 310 Foremaster Lane, is handling arrangements.

Marilyn Rogers

Marilyn Rogers, 69, of North Las Vegas died Saturday in North Las Vegas. She was born May 8, 1936, in Los Angeles. A resident for seven years, she was a retired factory inspector.

She is survived by her husband, Clarence; two sons, James Barker of Las Vegas, Clarence Rogers Jr. of Colorado; and four daughters, Nina Hunt of Arizona, Lynn Perry of Las Vegas and Carol Sanchez and Traci Rogers, both of California.

A memorial service will be 10 a.m. Saturday in Palm Mortuary, 1325 N. Main St.

Faye L. Whitman

Faye L. Whitman, 75, of Las Vegas died Monday in Las Vegas. She was born May 1, 1930, in Rice Lake, Wis. A resident for 40 years, she was a retired switchboard operator for the Department of Defense and a Korean War Air Force veteran.

She is survived by one daughter, Cynthia Calcatera Jimenez of Salinas, Calif.; one son, David Whitman of Atlanta; three grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
