Flood project to cause delays on Charleston
Friday, April 29, 2005 | 9:28 a.m.
A marathon flood improvement project is expected to delay traffic at the intersection of Charleston Boulevard and Tonopah Drive this weekend, Las Vegas Public Works officials said.
Charleston is expected to narrow to one lane through the Tonopah Drive intersection tonight and will fully reopen early Monday morning. Tonopah will be completely closed between Charleston and Rancho Lane. Drivers are urged to detour at Palomino Lane and Goldring Avenue.
The traffic delays are part of the city's Box-A-Thon, in which crews work 24 hours a day to install the concrete boxes below the intersection.
