North Las Vegas Police detectives arrested an 18-year-old man in connection with the fatal shooting of another man Sunday afternoon.
Shawn Glover of North Las Vegas was arrested on charges of murder with a deadly weapon. The arrest took place at a house in the 3000 block of Milton Place, North Las Vegas Police spokesman Tim Bedwell said.
Glover was taken to the North Las Vegas City Jail shortly after 8:30 p.m. Sunday, Bedwell said. There was no motive given for the shooting.
Police began their investigation into the shooting of a 21-year-old man after he tried to drive himself to a hospital after being wounded. He later died, Bedwell said said.
A North Las Vegas Police officer found the wounded man in the parking lot of a grocery store at Martin Luther King Boulevard and Craig Road about 3 p.m. on Sunday, Bedwell said.
The man was taken to University Medical Center by ambulance, where he was pronounced dead, Bedwell said.
Investigators discovered that the man had been shot during a confrontation in the street in front of a home on Milton Place, southwest of Alexander Road and Simmons Street, Bedwell said. Police said they did not know if the man that died had lived in one of the houses nearby.
Anyone with information regarding this crime is urged to call Crime Stoppers at 385-5555 or the North Las Vegas Police Department at 633-9111.
