Editorial: Armstrong’s triumph

Cyclist Lance Armstrong, who beat testicular cancer and won the Tour de France a record six straight times, announced Monday that he will retire after this year's Tour de France. Armstrong's announcement wasn't entirely unexpected since he lately has been talking about spending more time with his children and wanting to elevate his role in increasing cancer awareness and raising more money for cancer research.

Nowadays it's not easy finding professional athletes who not only are the best at what they do but who also serve as extraordinary role models. Armstrong is one such individual, who surely will be remembered as the greatest athlete in his sport and one who defined what true sportsmanship is all about.
