Library to host skin care workshop
A skin care/make-up workshop will begin 9:30 a.m. Saturday at the North Las Vegas Library, 2300 Civic Center Drive, North Las Vegas.
Learn how to take care of and protect your skin, the importance of applying moisturizers, anti-aging products, and easy make-up application for glamorous looks.
Anyone under 18 must be accompanied by a parent. The event is present by Mary Smith, Consultant of Mary Kay Beauty Products.

Realtors to honor poster winners
Real estate executives will recognize young artists and promote April as Fair Housing Month with a poster contest awards ceremony 5:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday at the Las Vegas Natural History Museum, 900 Las Vegas Blvd. North.
The Greater Las Vegas Association of Realtors is sponsoring the event and will announce the winners during the event.

Cyclists prepare for Tour de Summerlin
Cyclists are preparing for the fourth annual Tour de Summerlin, a series of noncompetitive bike rides Saturday. The 62-mile start begins at 8 a.m., followed by a 9 a.m. start for 37-mile participants. The 10-mile start begins at 10:30 a.m.
Tour de Summerlin profits will benefit the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society Team in Training, a nonprofit organization that trains athletes to compete in marathons, century rides and triathlons. In exchange for training, athletes pledge to raise funds for leukemia and related cancers. The day of community celebration includes Summerlin Earthfaire festivities and a post-ride luncheon for participants.
A parent or guardian must accompany riders under age 16. All participants, regardless of age, are required to wear ANSI approved helmets. Participants must pick up Tour de Summerlin packets from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday and sign ride waivers at Summerlin Centre Community Park, 1800 S. Town Center Drive.

Meditation program planned at library
A program for anyone interested in learning to meditate will begin at 1:30 p.m. Sunday at the West Charldston Library, 6301 W. Charleston Blvd.
Representatives of spiritual teacher Sant Baljit Singh will offer a complete three-hour course on Inner Light and Sound meditation. The program consists of a one-hour talk followed by two hours of instruction.
Participants will learn to alleviate stress and achieve harmonious balance with body, mind and soul.

Joshua Poling-Goldenne of Henderson
was named to Valparaiso University's Dean's List for achieving academic excellence. Poling-Goldenne is a senior electrical engineering major in the College of Engineering.
A Town Hall meeting on Education
will begin 7 p.m. Thursday at the Boulder city Library, 701 Adams Blvd., Boulder City. Participants will learn about the education bills that are about to be voted on and how you can support quality education in Nevada. Call 293-1281 or lynngoya@earthlink.net.
