Ardelle L. Lawrence Corona

Ardelle L. Lawrence Corona, 81, of Las Vegas died Wednesday in a local hospital. She was born Dec. 31, 1923, in Volin, S.D. A resident for 15 years, she was a retired military nurse and Korean War Navy veteran.

She is survived by her husband, Antonio.

Visitation is scheduled 2-7 p.m. Tuesday in Palm Mortuary, 1600 S. Jones Blvd. Burial will be in South Dakota.

Elmer L. Hughes

Elmer L. Hughes, 71, of Las Vegas died Wednesday in Las Vegas. He was born May 13, 1933, in New York. A resident for eight years, he was a consultant and an Army veteran.

He is survived by his wife, Sharon; two daughters, Ramona Beasley of Henderson and Renee Cole of California; one son, Jamal Sparks of California; and six grandchildren.

Visitation is scheduled 2-7 p.m. Tuesday in Thomas and Jones Funeral Home, 310 Foremaster Lane. Services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday in Victory Missionary Baptist Church, 500 W. Monroe Ave. Burial will be in Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Boulder City.

Cheyanne Elizabeth Jeffries

Cheyanne Elizabeth Jeffries, 2, of Las Vegas died Friday in a local hospital. A lifelong resident, she was born Oct. 9, 2002, in Las Vegas.

She is survived by her parents, Mary and Tommy Jeffries, two sisters, Ashley Jeffries and Chelsea Jeffries, three brothers, her twin brother, Dakota James Jeffries, Justin Liddic and Christopher Jeffries, and her grandparents, Albert and Wanita Liddic, and Florence Jeffries, all of Las Vegas.

Visitation is scheduled 3-7 p.m. today and one hour prior to a 10 a.m. service Tuesday in Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave.

The family suggests donations to Sunrise Children's Hospital and Medical Center, 3186 S. Maryland Parkway, Las Vegas, NV 89109.

Maria Lopez

Maria Lopez, 49, of North Las Vegas died Friday in North Las Vegas. She was born July 11, 1955, in Durango, Mexico. A resident for 21 years, she was a hotel housekeeper.

She is survived by six daughters, Maria Lopez, Elizabeth Mendoza, Guadalupe Mendoza, Rafaela Garcia and Sara Ayala, all of Las Vegas and Carmen Beltran of North Las Vegas; one son, Lorenzo Lopez of North Las Vegas; and 23 grandchildren.

Visitation is scheduled 2-7 p.m. today in Palm Mortuary, 1325 N. Main St. Services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday in St. Christopher's Catholic Church, 1840 N. Bruce St. Graveside services will follow in Palm Memorial Park.

Thora June Miller

Thora June Miller, 79, of Las Vegas died Wednesday in a local care center. She was born June 16, 1925, in Santa Monica, Calif. A resident for 11 years, she was a retired secretary for a hearing aid company.

She is survived by one sister, Betty L. Candler of Las Vegas.

Palm Mortuary, 7400 W. Cheyenne Ave., is handling arrangements.

The family suggests contributions to the donor's favorite animal shelter.

Terrence R. Nosek

Terrence R. Nosek, 68, of Las Vegas died April 2 in Las Vegas. He was born July 17, 1936, in Illinois. A resident for 17 years, he was a magician, an Army veteran and a member of the International Brotherhood of Magicians and Psychic Entertainers Association.

He is survived by his wife, Barbara; one son, Michael; two daughters, Colleen and Marie; one sister, Joyce; and three grandchildren.

Desert Memorial Cremation and Burial Society, 1111 Las Vegas Blvd. North, is handling arrangements.

Christine Penrod

Christine Penrod, 84, of Las Vegas died Thursday in a local hospital. She was born Dec. 5, 1920, in Paris. A resident for 29 years, she was a retired women's apparel seamstress and a member of the Cleveland French Club.

She is survived by one daughter, Jill Otto of Blue Grass, Iowa; one sister, Fernande Chenin of Las Vegas; three grandchildren; and one great-granddaughter.

Services will be 10 a.m. Wednesday in King David Memorial Chapel and Cemetery, 2697 Eldorado Lane. Burial will follow in Palm Valley View Memorial Park, 7600 S. Eastern Ave.

Betty Schonzeit

Betty Schonzeit, 89, of Las Vegas died Friday in a local hospice. She was born July 21, 1915, in the Bronx, N.Y. A resident for 11 years, she was a homemaker, a member of the City of Hope and Hadassah.

Services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday in Palm Mortuary, 7400 W. Cheyenne Ave. Burial will follow in Palm Valley View Memorial Park, 7600 S. Eastern Ave. King David Memorial Chapel and Cemetery, 2697 Eldorado Lane, is handling arrangements.

Geraldine G. Woodman

Geraldine G. Woodman, 92, of Las Vegas died Friday in a local care center. She was born May 6, 1912, in Minneapolis. A resident for one month, she was a retired hair stylist.

She is survived by one son, Michael C. Stern Sr. of Las Vegas; two grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
