Harriett Louise Abig

Harriett Louise Abig, 82, of Columbus, Ohio, died Wednesday in Antigo, Wis. She was born July 23, 1922, in Columbus. A former Henderson resident, she was a retired telephone operator and a World War II Coast Guard veteran.

She is survived by one daughter, Mary Jones of Henderson; and one grandchild.

A memorial service will be noon Saturday at Mary Jones' residence. Palm Mortuary, 800 S. Boulder Highway, Henderson, is handling arrangements.

Paul J. Bretanus

Paul J. Bretanus, 77, of Las Vegas died Sunday in Las Vegas. He was born Jan. 13, 1928, in South Boston, Mass. A resident for 16 years, he was a retired telephone company test board operator and an Army veteran.

He is survived by two sons, Paul E. Bretanus of Clear Lake, Texas, and James M. Bretanus of Mesquite; three daughters, Carol J. Plummer of Simi Valley, Calif., Jean M. Buetow of Winnetka, Calif., and June A. Borst of Lehi, Utah; 15 grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

Visitation is scheduled one hour prior to a 3 p.m. service Wednesday in Palm Mortuary, 7400 W. Cheyenne Ave.

Antoinette M. Corona

Antoinette M. Corona, 80, of Las Vegas died Monday in Las Vegas. She was born April 2, 1925, in Easton, Pa. A resident for 27 years, she was a retired seamstress.

She is survived by her husband of 59 years, Charles; one daughter, Christina Corona of Las Vegas; two grandsons; and one great-granddaughter.

Graveside services will be 9:20 a.m. Wednesday in Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Boulder City. Boulder City Family Mortuary, 833 Nevada Way, Suite 1, is handling arrangements.

Aileene K. Ervin

Aileene K. Ervin, 80, of Las Vegas died Thursday in Las Vegas. She was born Sept. 29, 1924, in Kansas City, Mo. A resident for 15 years, she was a retired office manager for a water conditioning company.

She is survived by her husband, George F.; one daughter, Ann M. Jackson of Irvine, Calif.; one son, Lee J. Ervin of Modesto, Calif.; two grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

A memorial service was scheduled at 11 a.m. today in St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church, 1811 Pueblo Vista Drive. Palm Mortuary, 7400 W. Cheyenne Ave., is handling arrangements.

Della Jamieson

Della Jamieson, 85, of Las Vegas died Saturday in Las Vegas. She was born Jan. 30, 1920, in Duncan, Okla. A resident for 15 years, she was a homemaker.

She is survived by one son, Max Ashbaugh of Boulder City; one daughter, Carol Glenn of Henderson; four grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

Palm Mortuary, 800 S. Boulder Highway, Henderson, handled arrangements.

Joann J. Martin

Joann J. Martin, 57, of Las Vegas died March 29 in Las Vegas. She was born Oct. 27, 1947, in Brookhaven, Miss. A resident for 40 years, she was a hotel PBX operator.

She is survived by two sons, Robert L. Martin Jr. and Kenneth J. Martin, both of Las Vegas; three brothers, Warren Johnson, Herman Fields and Alvin Fields; four sisters, Ethel Jones, Deloris Couyette, Pam Thrash and Naomi Harris; and four grandchildren.

Visitation is scheduled 1-7 p.m. Wednesday in Palm Mortuary, 7400 W. Cheyenne Ave. Services will be 11 a.m. Thursday in Palm Chapel, Cheyenne. Burial will follow in Palm Memorial Park, Northwest, 6701 N. Jones Blvd.

Harold W. 'Bill' Meeker Jr.

Harold W. "Bill" Meeker Jr., 42, of Las Vegas died Saturday in a local hospital. He was born Aug. 2, 1962, in Portland, Ore. A resident for one month, he was a truck driver.

He is survived by his wife, Christy; one daughter, Ashley Meeker, and one son, Billy Meeker, both of Las Vegas; his mother, Vi Meeker, and one sister, Cheryl Beaudoin, both of Portland; and four brothers, Denny Meeker of Mexico and Darrel Meeker, Gary Meeker and Randy Meeker, all of Portland.

A memorial service will be 1 p.m. Wednesday in Lamb of God Lutheran Church, 6220 N. Jones Blvd. Palm Mortuary, 7400 W. Cheyenne Ave., is handling arrangements.

Thomas Victor Podar

Thomas Victor Podar, 79, of Las Vegas died Saturday in a local hospice. He was born June 22, 1925, in Niles, Ohio. A resident for 35 years, he retired as a gaming executive after 50 years, 35 years in Las Vegas and was a World War II veteran of the Merchant Marines.

He is survived by his wife, Alberta; one son, Nick Podar III of Las Vegas; two sisters, Frances Nasea of Redford Township, Mich., and Silvia Shader of West Covina, Calif.

Visitation is scheduled 1-7 p.m. Wednesday in Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave. Services will be 11 a.m. Thursday in St. Viator Catholic Church, 2461 E. Flamingo Road. Burial will follow in Palm Valley View Memorial Park, 7600 S. Eastern Ave.

Judith Rightmyer

Judith Rightmyer, 86, of Las Vegas died Sunday in Las Vegas. She was born June 5, 1918, in Amsterdam, N.Y. A resident for 22 years, she was a retired cashier at the university retail shop and a volunteer at Sunrise Hospital.

She is survived by two daughters, Gail Fleck of Las Vegas and Beth Berger of Reston, Va.; one sister, Genevive Grau of Columbus, Md.; and two grandsons.

A memorial service will be 2 p.m. Saturday at Rose Cottage, 4025 Pearl St. Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave., is handling arrangements.

The family suggests boxes of chocolate to an Alzheimer's facility.

Iva Fay Ward

Iva Fay Ward, 80, of Las Vegas died Friday in a local care center. She was born March 6, 1925, in Red Cloud, Neb. A resident for 49 years, she retired after 31 years as a civil service employee, was Boss of the Year, Woman of the Year and president and member of the Oasis chapter of American Business Womens Association.

She is survived by one daughter, Cecelia Ward, and one sister, Irma McCoy, both of Las Vegas; and one grandson.

Visitation is scheduled 4-8 p.m. Wednesday with a 6 p.m. rosary in Palm Mortuary, 1325 N. Main St. Mass will be celebrated 1:30 p.m. Thursday in St. Joseph, Husband of Mary Catholic Church, 7260 W. Sahara Ave. Graveside services will follow at 3 p.m. Thursday in Palm Memorial Park.

Debbie Waters

Debbie Waters, 37, of Henderson died Saturday in Henderson. She was born May 8, 1967, in Orange, Calif. A resident for 10 years, she was a homemaker.

She is survived by her husband, Jeffrey Sr.; one son, Jeffrey Waters Jr. of Henderson; her father, Wayne Ellison of Nevada City, Calif.; her mother, Gaylene Ellison of Henderson; one brother, Anthony Ellison of Lakewood, Calif.; and one sister, Tammie Ellison of San Bernardino, Calif.
