Nevada's rural tourist attractions and activities will be highlighted in a made-for-television event next year, the Nevada Commission on Tourism announced.
"Nevada Passage" will feature two-person teams of athletes participating in a competition in various locations around the state.
TEAM Unlimited, the Hawaii-based production company, will develop a one-hour TV show that will feature rock climbing in Red Rock Canyon, jet-skiing in Lake Mead, mountain biking in the Ruby Mountains near Elko and kayaking on the Truckee River in Reno, among other activities.
The race will be staged May 19-24 and is expected to be broadcast on a syndicated basis on network television August through January 2006.
Tourism officials hope the show will call attention to adventure activities available across the state.
