Letter: Robinson makes a classy departure

Regarding Ron Kantowski's column Monday about John Robinson:
Coach Robinson is definitely a class person who took the program to another level. It seems to me that he simply has more concern about players and family members than some people. Rather than struggle with this program (it simply cannot be easy here no matter who the coach is), he chose to gradually step away. That move creates a much more healthy separation and would seem to have set the groundwork for the next coach.
Because of that, I would think that he'll leave here more recognized for his humanity and values than his win-loss record. He has certainly showed a high level of dignity during some very stressful times, as evidenced by the fact that his players speak so highly of him.
Hopefully, the fans here will recognize that, too.
