Guinn honors wheelchair group
Gov. Kenny Guinn has proclaimed Sept. 25 as a day to honor the good work and great cause that drives the Nevada chapter of the Wheelchair Foundation, whose goal is to provide free wheelchairs to everyone in the state who needs them.
The Nevada chapter of the nonprofit organization will celebrate the occasion at 9 a.m. Saturday and Sunday at Hot Rod Grille, 1231 American Pacific Drive, Henderson.

Hospice to host annual wine tasting
Nathan Adelson Hospice will host its fifth annual Wine Tasting Extravaganza at 5:30 p.m. Thursday at Gaudin Jaguar-Porsche-Aston Martin of Las Vegas, 7200 W. Sahara Ave., to benefit the Las Vegas-based hospice care facility.
Guests will be able to experience an assortment of wines and foods provided by several Las Vegas restaurants.
Tickets are $40.

Boys Nite Out set at Lied club
Men throughout the valley are invited to participate in the 33rd annual Boys Nite Out 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Thursday at the Lied Memorial Boys and Girls Club, 2850 S. Lindell Road.
The event matches boys, ages 7-12, with men from the business community for an evening of food, games prizes and friendship. Local celebrities and role models, including entertainers, mascots and athletes, will be on hand to pose for pictures and sign autographs for the Boys Nite Out pairs. Call 367-2582, Ext. 254.
