A Las Vegas fire chief was recently selected by the I Have A Dream Foundation Inc., Las Vegas Project for the Volunteer of the Year award.
Las Vegas Fire & Rescue Chief David L. Washington accepted the award at a special ceremony held in the Treasure Island ballroom on Sept. 11.
The organization said they selected Washington for going "above and beyond his responsibility of serving as an I Have A Dream board member" by not only participating in quarterly meetings, but also for being a personal mentor for four Dreamers.
