SUN WASHINGTON BUREAU
WASHINGTON -- Sen. Harry Reid, D-Nev., has donated $1 million of his campaign money to the Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee.
"When it comes to his support for the DSCC and our candidates, Senator Reid is nothing short of a rock star," said Sen. Jon Corzine, D-N.J., who heads the campaign committee. The contribution is the largest the contribution from a senator to the committee. "Senator Reid's contribution will help us make the critical final push over the next seven weeks of the campaign."
Reid's Chief of Staff Susan McCue said the senator felt it was time after the recess to step up to the plate to help his friends with tough re-elections. She said Reid was not looking beyond Nov. 2 at this point but wanted to help the caucus and help elect Democrats.
