Regulators warn of scam
Thursday, Sept. 16, 2004 | 10:59 a.m.
The Nevada Division of Insurance issued a warning that an unlicensed company -- Wilson Pacific Insurance Co. -- is allegedly attempting to sell professional liability policies to real estate inspectors.
A division spokeswoman said there is no evidence that any Nevada consumers have purchased the policies, but Wilson Pacific has been using a Las Vegas address in its solicitations.
Wilson Pacific erroneously claims in its solicitations that it was purchased by Landmark American Insurance Co., which is licensed in Nevada, and is using forged Landmark letterhead.
The division emphasized that Landmark is not involved with Wilson Pacific or the solicitations.
