Oklahoma City flights planned by LV carrier

Las Vegas-based Allegiant Air will begin nonstop round trips between Oklahoma City and McCarran International Airport next month.
Allegiant will operate 162-passenger twin-engine MD-83 jets on the route, flying Thursdays, Fridays, Sundays and Mondays. Flights begin Oct. 28 and will leave Las Vegas at 2 p.m. and return from Oklahoma City at 7:10 p.m.
Oklahoma City is the 14th destination to be served from Las Vegas by Allegiant, which will compete against charter operator Champion Air on the route. TransMeridian Airlines operated on the route for two months earlier this year but discontinued service, citing poor passenger counts.
