Arlene Mae Beard

Arlene Mae Beard, 70, of Las Vegas died Monday in Las Vegas. An interior designer, she was born March 10, 1934, in Illinois.

She is survived by one son, Michael Singer.

Albert 'Pete' Bolin Jr.

Albert 'Pete' Bolin Jr., 64, of Las Vegas died Saturday in Las Vegas. He was born July 2, 1940, in Tallulah, La. A resident for 44 years, he was a laborer at the Nevada Test Site, a member of the Laborers Local 872 and the Teamsters Union.

He was preceded in death by one son, Albert Bolin Jr.

He is survived by his wife, Janet; four daughters, Janice Bolin and Candice Bolin, both of Las Vegas, Shatita Bolin of San Diego, and Kimberly Bolin; one son, Ramon Bolin, three stepdaughters, Takeisha Browhaw, Josette Browhaw and Josiah Browhaw, all of Las Vegas; three sisters, Mary Bolin of Las Vegas, Catherine Roach of Tallulah, La., and Geraldine Boiln of Melbourne, Australia; two brothers, Mimmy Boiln of Tallulah and Willie Bolin of Los Angeles; and six grandchildren.

Visitation is scheduled noon-7 p.m. Thursday in Bunkers Mortuary, 925 Las Vegas Blvd. North. Services will be 11 a.m. Friday in Bunkers Chapel. Burial will follow in Woodlawn Cemetery.

Dorothy Marion Bruce

Dorothy Marion Bruce, 74, of Las Vegas died Saturday in a local hospice. She was born Jan. 10, 1930, in Texas. A resident for 40 years, she was a showroom waitress, a member of the Citizens Band Radio Club and Culinary Local 226.

She is survived by two sons, Art R. and Ronald E. Bruce; two daughters, Linda E. Bruce Alldredge and Robin M. Bruce; one brother, John Chauncey; one sister, Ramona Biddle; six grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

Cary Butler

Cary Butler, 85, of North Las Vegas died Saturday in Las Vegas. He was born Oct. 15, 1918, in Oak Grove, La. A resident for 61 years, he did plastering and stucco, was a 33rd degree Prince Hall Mason at St. Mark's Grand Lodge.

He is survived by four sons, Karl E. Butler and George Simpson, both of Las Vegas, Charles Simpson of Olympia, Wash., and Maurice Green of Bowie, Md.; three daughters, Ernestine Issac, Gloria Hines and Lorraine Harris, all of Las Vegas; one sister, Bertha Toston of Los Angeles; eight grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

Visitation is scheduled 3-7 p.m. Friday in Bunkers Mortuary, 925 Las Vegas Blvd. North. Services will be 11 a.m. Saturday in Pilgrim Rest Missionary Baptist Church, 1240 W. Adams Ave. Entombment will follow in Memory Gardens Mausoleum, 7251 W. Lone Mountain Road.

Opal T. Cryer

Opal T. Cryer, 88, of North Las Vegas died Friday in a local care center. She was born March 30, 1916, in Rose Pine, La. A resident for 48 years, she was a retired manager of a janitorial service.

She is survived one sister, Ira Harrison of Las Vegas; one brother, Ralph Porter of California; two nephews, Franklin G. Porter of North Las Vegas and Larry Porter of Rhode Island; two nieces, Diane Wilson of Peoria, Ill., and Elaine Morgan of North Las Vegas; and one great-nephew, Samuel Porter of Las Vegas.

Jim Fay

Jim Fay, 65, of Las Vegas died Friday in Las Vegas. He was born Dec. 22, 1938, in Somerset, Pa. A resident for seven years, he was a retired aerospace engineer and a Vietnam War Air Force veteran.

He is survived by his wife, Joan; one son, J.D. Fay of Eagle Ridge, Calif.; and one daughter, Laura Fay of San Francisco.

Visitation is scheduled 30 minutes prior to a 3:30 p.m. service Saturday in Palm Mortuary, 7400 W. Cheyenne Ave.

Lou Kucera

Lou Kucera, 65, of North Las Vegas died Monday in a local hospice. She was born Oct. 22, 1938, in San Diego. A resident for 10 years, she was a retired telephone purchaser.

She is survived by her husband, Darrell; one daughter, Teri Lynch of Santee, Calif.; one son, Marc McCutchan of Layton, Utah; and seven grandchildren.

Bob Loar, 68, of Las Vegas died Saturday in a local hospice. He was born Oct. 14, 1935, in Chicago. A resident for eight years, he was an accountant for an assisted living center.

He is survived by his wife, Patti; one son, Rob; four daughters, Lisa, Linda, Lorita and Leanne; four stepsons, Tom, Paul, Matthew and Jonathan; one stepdaughter, Dancen; and 16 grandchildren.

Betty J. Maloney, 71, of Las Vegas died Friday in a local hospice. She was born Jan. 16, 1933, in Adrian, Mich. A resident for three years, she was a homemaker.

She is survived by two daughters, Mary Curran of Las Vegas and Patricia Simonek of Big Bear, Calif.; one sister, Virginia Thornlow of Orlando, Fla; one brother, Paul Delo of Bonne Terre, Mo.; six grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

Billy Martin, 63, of Henderson died Saturday in a local hospice. He was born Aug. 7, 1941, in Williamson, Va. A resident for 20 years, he was a retired hotel engineer, a veteran and a member of Operating Engineers Local 501.

He is survived by his wife, Donna; and his mother, Lucille O'Brien.

Mary Sue O'Neil

Mary Sue O'Neil, 70, of Las Vegas died Friday in Las Vegas. She was born Jan. 22, 1934, in Tennessee. A resident for 25 years, she was a cashier.

She is survived by her husband, Edward V.; one son, David O'Neil; two daughters, Debbie Von Uebbing and Dorothy Carlson; one brother, Robert Shelton; six sisters, Lynn McVittie, Phyllis Collins, Judy Randall, Janine McKenna, Anita Saunders and Delores Shelton; 12 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

Yongrong Shen

Yongrong Shen, 51, of Las Vegas died Sunday in a local hospital. He was born Sept. 23, 1952, in China. A resident for 1 1/2 years, he was a university research professor.

He is survived by his wife, Li Yun Cao of Las Vegas; and one son, Tao Shen of Pullman, Wash.

Manuel Tan

Manuel Tan, 94, of Las Vegas died Saturday in a local hospital. He was born Aug. 29, 1910, in the Philippines. A resident for four months, he was a retired purchasing agent for a rice mill company.

He is survived by several grandchildren; and great-grandchildren.

Visitation is scheduled 8 a.m. until a 3 p.m. service Saturday in Palm Mortuary, 1325 N. Main St. Burial will follow in Palm Memorial Park.

W. Alan Weathers

W. Alan Weathers, 42, of Las Vegas died Sept. 8 in Las Vegas. He was born Nov. 21, 1961, in Las Vegas. A lifelong resident, he was a sales manager for Jackpot Printing and a Navy veteran.

He is survived by his mother, Barbara J. Hayes of Las Vegas; his father, Henry E. Weathers, and one sister, Eugena Marie Weathers-Woods, both of Fountain Inn., S.C.; and three brothers, John E. Weathers and Paul Hayes, both of Las Vegas and Aaron Eugene Hammock of Albuquerque.

Graveside services will be 12:40 p.m. Monday in Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Boulder City. Affordable Cremation and Burial Service, 2457 N. Decatur Blvd., is handling arrangements.

Anna Williams

Anna Williams, 78, of Las Vegas died Monday in a local care center. She was born March 13, 1926, in England. A resident for 10 years, she was a child care provider and educator.

She is survived by three daughters, Joelle, Anna P. Williams and Yvonne Sanusi; four sons, Ronald, Gerald E., Thomas B. and Louie Lee Williams; one sister, Margie Dickerson; 30 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.

Visitation is scheduled 2 p.m. Friday in Desert Memorial Cremation and Burial Society, 1111 Las Vegas Blvd. North.

James Aaron Wright

James Aaron Wright, 69, of Las Vegas died Monday in Las Vegas. He was born Dec. 3, 1934, in Flat Rock, Mich. A resident for 10 years, he worked ground service for TWA.

He is survived by his wife, Mildred Amherst; one daughter Karen Chiasson of Northville, Mich.; one son, Duane Wright of Lenoir, N.C.; and one granddaughter.
