It is about time to abandon the unfair and antiquated Electoral College. It is long past its value as a fair way to elect a president.
Voter participation is down to 54.5 percent nationally because many who are eligible are disillusioned with the electoral system. Only the popular vote should count. If that had been the case in the last election, we would not have been saddled with President Bush and a war that we should never have entered, a war which needlessly has taken many innocent lives and solved nothing.
America should kick out the Electoral College and install a popular-vote method. It would be doing the right thing.
Every single vote would count and that is the only fair system. Americans are smart enough to know how to vote.
