Man sentenced for killing kiosk owner

A 20-year-old man convicted of killing the 40-year-old owner of a jewelry kiosk at Fashion Show mall was sentenced on Tuesday to 40 years to life in prison.
Aaron Daniels was found guilty of murder with use of a deadly weapon, conspiracy to commit robbery, robbery with use of a deadly weapon, and first-degree kidnapping with use of a deadly weapon for the May 2003 killing of Anthony Limongello.
Daniels was silent in court, shaking his head and waving his hand to indicate "no" after District Judge Joseph Bonaventure asked him if he had anything to say prior to hearing his fate.
"The poor man (Limongello) was lured to his death by a woman he trusted and then he's shot in the head," Bonaventure told Daniels. "This was the worst thing a human being could do to a human being."
Although authorities have said others might have been involved in Limongello's murder, Daniels and 20-year-old mother of two, Natasha Barker, are the only ones to have been charged and convicted in connection with the slaying.
A jury in May convicted Natasha Barker of first-degree murder with use of a deadly weapon, conspiracy to commit robbery, robbery with use of a deadly weapon and kidnapping with use of a deadly weapon in connection with Limongello's death.
Bonaventure sentenced Barker to life in prison with the possibility of parole.
Metro Police and prosecutors are continuing to investigate Limongello's murder because of the possibility that other people were involved.
During Daniels' trial, testimony raised the possibility that as many as three other individuals, including the man many believe was the shooter, could face charges if better evidence -- specifically independent corroborated evidence -- were found.
The murder plot consisted of Barker calling her friend Joanna Reyes, 20, who was living with Limongello. Barker asked Reyes for a ride, knowing that Limongello would be forced to drive since Reyes did not own a car and did not have a driver's license, prosecutors said.
Limongello and Reyes agreed to pick her up and were eventually led to the back of a strip mall where they were carjacked by Daniels, jurors determined.
