The Las Vegas law firm of Wadhams and Akridge has merged with Jones Vargas, a 60-lawyer firm with offices in Las Vegas and Reno.
The merger will be complete on Sept. 13 when the five Wadhams and Akridge attorneys relocate to the Jones Vargas offices at 3773 Howard Hughes Parkway and begin practicing under the Jones Vargas name. Gary Goodhart, Jones Vargas' managing partner, said the merger will strengthen the firm's government affairs, litigation and administrative law practices.
Jim Wadhams is a former Nevada insurance commissioner and director of the state Department of Commerce. His practice focuses on lobbying, government relations and state tax insurance issues. Connie Akridge concentrates on insurance and health care issues.
