Trade mission on tap
Thursday, Sept. 2, 2004 | 10:48 a.m.
The Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority will host a trade mission to Brazil Sept. 14-16 to attract new South American attendees and international media to Las Vegas trade shows.
"When we asked our building customers where they wanted the LVCVA to host its first international trade mission, they unanimously selected Brazil," said Rossi Ralenkotter, president and chief executive of the LVCVA. The event will spread the Las Vegas brand overseas to help boost visitation to Las Vegas as well as build new relationships with trade associations and potential convention-goers, he said.
Participants in the trade mission include CONEXPO-CON/AGG, the International Consumer Electronics Show, the National Association of Broadcasters, Reed Exhibitions, VNU Business Media and U.S. Commercial Service, a government agency that assists companies in export promotion and market research.
The LVCVA has been aiming for years to build up South American business and has also made trips to Argentina and Brazil to drum up more airline service to Las Vegas.
