Letter: Range deserves to be protected

Forty years ago the Wilderness Act was signed into law. Today, Nevada citizens carry on the tradition of conserving our nation's wild heritage by working to protect areas such as the Pahranagat Range, Fortification Range and the Delamar and Mormon Mountains in Eastern Nevada, so that future generations can experience the archaeological, cultural and natural treasures these areas hold.

Americans who treasure the nation's special wild places must work to see that our leaders continue to protect them for future generations.

I hope our senators and representatives realize the importance of Nevada's wild places and celebrate the 40th anniversary of the Wilderness Act by incorporating the Pahranagat Range into the proposed Lincoln County legislation.
