Slot maker to add 40 jobs

Aristocrat Technologies Inc. is adding about 40 new positions in Las Vegas to handle the company's growing slot manufacturing business in North America.
The Las Vegas-based company received interest from about 90 people at a job fair Saturday, which started the interview process, company President Gavin Isaacs said.
The company already has about 400 employees locally.
The positions are open in technology, software and finance departments and most are salaried, professional jobs. About half of the jobs are available in research and development and field service, Isaacs said.
Aristocrat's North America revenue has grown 45 percent, while game and hardware sales increased by nearly 60 percent in the first six months of the year. Earnings at the company, a subsidiary of the Australian slot giant Aristocrat Leisure Ltd., had suffered last year in part because its games weren't as popular with Americans and because Aristocrat was slower than competitors to offer games that use tickets in addition to coins.
