Rosa D. Acosta

Rosa D. Acosta, 87, of Las Vegas died Thursday in Las Vegas. She was born May 12, 1917, in El Salvador. A resident for 20 years, she was a homemaker.

She is survived by two sons, Juan M. Acosta and Carlos A. Tochez; five daughters, Aida A. Acosta, Maria Ester T. Gonzalez, Angela A. Rosales, Estella M. Magana and Rosa D. Acosta; 19 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.

A wake will be 5-9 p.m. today in Desert Memorial Cremation and Burial Society, 1111 Las Vegas Blvd. North. Visitation is scheduled one hour prior to an 11 a.m. service Tuesday in Desert Memorial Cremation and Burial Society.

Howard Kendall Barker

Howard Kendall Barker, 52, of Las Vegas died Sunday in Las Vegas. He was born Sept. 18, 1952, in Santa Monica, Calif. A valley resident for 30 years, he was a dock worker.

He is survived by two sisters, Joan Barker and Molly Barker.

Garden Memorial Funeral Home, 3600 W. Vegas Drive, is handling private arrangements.

Les Cruickshank

Les Cruickshank, 54, of Henderson died Sunday in a local hospice. He was born May 30, 1950, in Huntington Park, Calif. A resident for two years, he owned and operated an appliance sales and service business and was a Vietnam War Army veteran.

He is survived by his wife, Cathy; one son, Aaron Cruickshank, and one daughter, Tania Cruickshank, both of California; his mother, Margaret H. Hicks, one brother, Roy Cruickshank, and one sister, Jeannette R. Graves, all of Oregon; and four grandchildren.

A memorial service will be 1 p.m. Wednesday in Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave.

The family suggests donations to the Nathan Adelson Hospice, 4141 S. Swenson St., Las Vegas, NV 89119.

Betty J. Espindola

Betty J. Espindola, 83, of Las Vegas died Wednesday in a local hospital. She was born March 27, 1921, in San Leandro, Calif. A resident for one year, she was a retired university health coordinator.

She is survived by one daughter, Lisa Riggs-Aslam of Las Vegas; and two grandchildren.

Palm Mortuary, 7400 W. Cheyenne Ave., is handling arrangements.

Robert G. Garcia

Robert G. Garcia, 81, of Las Vegas died Thursday in a local health care center. He was born Nov. 15, 1922, in Santa Ana, Calif. A resident for 14 years, he was a retired telephone line installer and a member of Local 300.

He is survived by his wife, Carol; two daughters, Helen McCollum of Ben Wheeler, Texas, and Mary Louise Scarsdale of Diamond Bar, Calif.; two sons, Albert Garcia of Santa Ana, Calif., and Jack Garcia of Laguna Niguel, Calif.; three stepdaughters, Clara Cordero and Gloria Rodriguez, both of Topeka, Kan., and Linda Presley of Norco, Calif.; three stepsons, Albert Botkin of Santa Ana and Boyd Whitteker and Daniel Whitteker, both of Las Vegas; one brother, Jess Garcia; six grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

Visitation is scheduled 1-7 p.m. Thursday in Palm Mortuary, 7400 W. Cheyenne Ave.

Allen Shane

Allen Shane, 45, of Las Vegas died Friday in a local hospital. He was born Feb. 12, 1959, in Bonham, Texas. A resident for 43 years, he was an electrician.

He is survived by his father, Douglas Paul Gibbs, one brother, Phill Douglas Gibbs, and his companion, Michelle Hefner, all of Las Vegas.

Visitation is scheduled 2-7 p.m. Tuesday and Wednesday in Palm Mortuary, 1325 N. Main St. Services will be 1 p.m. Thursday in Palm Chapel, Main. Burial will follow in Palm Memorial Park.

Jerry E. Neuman

Jerry E. Neuman, 69, of Las Vegas died Thursday in Las Vegas. He was born Nov. 14, 1934, in Beatrice, Neb. A resident for 18 years, he was a retired owner-operator of a cabinet making and design business and a member of Daylite Lodge 44.

He is survived by his wife, Carol E.; one daughter, Jody L. Neuman of Las Vegas; one son, Jason E. Neuman of Anaheim, Calif.; and one grandchild.

Jenny M. Reisinger

Jenny M. Reisinger, 73, of Las Vegas died Friday in Las Vegas. She was born Feb. 14, 1931, in Detroit. A resident for 10 years, she was a homemaker.

She is survived by her husband, Wally R.; one daughter, Kris Orselli of Novi, Mich.; one son, Wally J. Reisinger of Jackson, Mich.; seven grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

A memorial service will be 11 a.m. Monday in Affordable Cremation and Burial Service, 2457 N. Decatur Blvd.

Carlos Sandoval

Carlos Sandoval, 28, of Las Vegas died Friday in Las Vegas. He was born Nov. 12, 1976, in Los Angeles. He was a resident for 16 years.

He is survived by his companion, Griselda Rodrigues, seven sons, Giovani Sandoval, Anthony Sandoval, Angel Sandoval, Christopher Sandoval, Chalitos Sandoval, Danny Sandoval and Brondon Sandoval, one daughter, Irene Sandoval, his mother, Rosa Rivas, his father, Carlos Sandoval, two sisters, Carolina Sandoval and Claudia Aquino, and his grandmother, Maria Hernandez, all of Las Vegas.

Visitation is scheduled 10 a.m.-8 p.m. Tuesday in Thomas and Jones Funeral Home, 310 Foremaster Lane. Services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday in Thomas and Jones Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Woodlawn Cemetery.

Horace 'Terry' Therrien

Horace "Terry" Therrien, 84, of Las Vegas died Wednesday in Las Vegas. A retired U.S. Postal Service employee and a World War II Army veteran, he was born March 30, 1920, in Lynn, Mass.

He is survived by one son, William Therrien, and one daughter, Jean Therrien, both of Colorado; one stepson, Bruce Cahill, and one stepdaughter, Patricia Gallagher, both of Las Vegas; and one granddaughter.

Services are private. Burial will be in Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Boulder City. Nevada Funeral Service-Nevada Cremation or Burial Society, 2983 Fremont St., is handling arrangements.

Virginia Lee Warren

Virginia Lee Warren, 73, of Las Vegas died Monday in a local hospital. She was born Aug. 27, 1931, in Lincoln, Neb. A resident for 11 years, she was a retired bookkeeper.

She is survived by her husband, Zollie F.; one daughter, Marilyn Mancini of Las Vegas; one son, Richard Reninger of Sarasota, Fla.; two brothers, Harold Lomax of Las Vegas and William Lomax of Westwood, Calif.; four grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

Visiation is scheduled 11 a.m.-11:30 a.m. Wednesday in Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave. Burial will follow in Palm Valley View Memorial. Palm Mortuary, 1600 S. Jones Blvd., is handling arrangements.
