With all due respect to those who lost loved ones, this inquiry by the 9-11 commission is completely a waste of time. The only thing getting accomplished is a lot of finger-pointing for a tragedy of such unbelievable proportions that no emergency system in place today or ever has any chance of making chaos like that any easier to get through.
No "red-blooded American" would have ever dreamed of the sucker punch handed to us that day. So sure that we would never see violence so horrific in our own back yard, we were lulled by the arrogance of our security.
On Sept. 11 we saw heroism and patriotism so high that for a moment we were humbled and came together as a nation. That was the best that could have been done. Period.
