Even though the Boulder Basin at Lake Mead attracts the most fishing activity, this is the time of year that anglers may want to explore the Overton Arm because it has good action for largemouth and striped bass and channel catfish.
NDOW creel census clerks found stripers, largemouth bass and catfish at Stewart's Point in the Overton Arm. Fish were being caught from shore as well as boats.
Most of the anglers have been using anchovies to catch stripers and catfish. Spinner baits are taking the bass and, interestingly, a few catfish.
Boaters who have been fishing in the Boulder Basin have found stripers recently from the 33 Hole to Black Island. Most of the fish weigh around a pound.
