Mother upgraded; mobile home fire killed two children

The mother of two toddlers who perished in a trailer fire in Pahrump over the weekend was upgraded from critical to fair condition today at University Medical Center.

The state fire marshal's office also said today that its preliminary findings are that the fire in the trailer that was parked in the 3200 block of West Mason Street in Pahrump, about 60 miles west of Las Vegas, appeared to have been accidentally started.

Holly Hinson, 32, suffered smoke inhalation during Saturday's fire between 8:30 and 9:30 p.m. She had been staying in the trailer in front of her parents' home with her 18-month-old son and 2 1/2-year-old daughter, Nye County Sheriff's office investigators said.

The names of Hinson's children who died in the blaze have not yet been released by the Nye County Sheriff's Office.
