Man wanted in Ohio deaths arrested here

A 25-year-old man wanted for killing a man and an infant in Columbus, Ohio, last year was arrested last week by members of the Criminal Apprehension Team at a home near Lamb Boulevard and Bonanza Road.

Toby Wilcox was visiting his brother in the 4400 block of Halbert Avenue when he was arrested. Police also arrested his brother, Keith Leon Wilcox, on a murder warrant out of Illinois.

Police allege Toby Wilcox and a male accomplice in May 2003 forced their way into a home of a Columbus area drug dealer intending to steal drugs and money, Sgt. Tom Roberts of the CAT team said.

A man was shot twice in the head during the robbery and a shot was fired at a woman. The shot instead hit an infant in the head, Roberts said.

The man and baby were pronounced dead at the scene.

The woman recovered from her injuries and later testified at the trial of Toby Wilcox's accomplice. He was convicted of homicide and is on death row awaiting execution, Roberts said. Wilcox awaits trial in the incident.
