Charges filed after man hit by car in bar’s parking lot

Metro Police arrested a 21-year-old man Monday on charges of running over another man in the parking lot of a bar on East Tropicana Avenue near Nellis Boulevard after an argument.

Kristopher Presley of Las Vegas was being held in the Clark County Detention Center on a charge of murder with a deadly weapon.

Metro received a call about 6:40 p.m. from Butch Cassidy's Bar and Grill on at 5225 E. Tropicana Ave. reporting that a man had been hit by a green sport utility vehicle, Sgt. Rocky Alby said.

Police and medical personnel found the 32-year-old victim dead in the parking lot. His name was yet released this morning.

Witnesses told police that the victim and two other men got into an argument with two men in the SUV. Alby declined to say what the argument was about.

Bottles were thrown at the SUV and police allege Presley ran over the victim, who was standing in the path of the vehicle.

Presley fled to a nearby apartment complex. He was found a short time later and arrested, police said.

Alby said Presley and the victim did not know each other. The incident does not appear to be gang-related, he said.
