Pretrial hearing set for Sky-Vue owners

A pretrial hearing for the owners of the Sky-Vue Mobile Park that Las Vegas officials shut down for being a public health hazard is set for Aug. 23, and the city says it will seek jail time for alleged license violations.

David DiMarco and his wife, Sandi, are charged with doing business without a license. City officials say the DiMarcos could face additional charges for alleged code violations that led to the city shutting down the decaying park at 15 W. Owens Ave. on April 30 and relocating the residents.

At a hearing Monday before alternate Municipal Judge John Lavery, Deputy City Attorney Heidi Nagel told the court that the city intends to seek jail time for the DiMarcos, Municipal Court Administrator Jim Carmany said.

Attempts to reach the DiMarcos' attorney Garry Hayes early today were not successful. He has filed a lawsuit against the city, claiming damages to the DiMarcos stemming from the Sky-Vue shutdown.

The violations at the park, as determined by several agencies, involved health and safety codes for sewers, electricity and water. Also, the park was without a fire hydrant ordered by the city.
