About 5,000 Nevada Power customers were in the dark early this morning after a malfunction at a North Las Vegas substation.
The outage started about 12:45 this morning in northwest North Las Vegas after equipment failed at a nearby substation, leaving customers near Centennial Parkway and Decatur Boulevard without power. Nevada Power technicians responded and restored power within an hour, said Nevada Power spokeswoman Sonya Headen.
No further outages were reported this morning, Headen said.
