Letter: Don’t rush to judge Peterson
Tuesday, Jan. 13, 2004 | 9:03 a.m.
I am concerned that Scott Peterson, who is accused of killing his wife, Laci, and his unborn son, is being convicted before his trial. In my opinion, Scott Peterson just might be an innocent man.
A short time before Laci's disappearance in the Modesto, Calif., area, there was a grisly murder of a woman that was done in the same fashion and in the same area. It might have been done by a serial killer. The defense seems to feel that police have not conducted an adequate investigation into this previous murder.
Some people say that Scott's appearance makes him look guilty. But the way a person looks is no way to judge his guilt or innocence. It would be tragic if the court convicted an innocent man and gave him the death sentence. A person is innocent until proven guilty.
