Letter: Bush’s spending is irresponsible
Friday, Feb. 6, 2004 | 9:51 a.m.
It is appalling that George W. Bush has created a deficit of almost $500 billion after inheriting a surplus of more than $200 billion. That makes every American's share of the national deficit more than $23,000.
Bush is behind the most irresponsible display of spending this country has ever seen. The president chooses to excessively fund wars in Iraq and Afghanistan along with a Medicare package that hurts senior citizens.
It is time to stop this radical spending and put someone in the White House who can undo the financial mess created by the Bush administration.
