Effie J. Andrews

Effie J. Andrews, 72, of Las Vegas died Sunday in Las Vegas. She was born July 16, 1932, in Texas. A resident for 17 years, she was a retired waitress.

She is survived by one son, Derik Andrews; one daughter, Betty Monroe; numerous grandchildren; and great-grandchildren.

No local services are scheduled. Services will be in San Antonio. Desert Memorial Cremation and Burial Society, 1111 Las Vegas Blvd. North, is handling arrangements.

Elda Mae Bischoff

Elda Mae Bischoff, 85, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in a local care center. A retired timekeeper for a manufacturing firm, she was born Sept. 8, 1918, in Erie, Pa.

She is survived by one son, William Bischoff of Las Vegas; six grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

Visitation is scheduled 2-7 p.m. Friday in Palm Mortuary, 7400 W. Cheyenne Ave. Palm Mortuary, 1600 S. Jones Blvd., is handling arrangements.

Maria Buchmann

Maria Buchmann, 81, of Las Vegas died Wednesday in a local hospital. She was born July 6, 1923, in Yugoslavia. A resident for three years, she was a homemaker.

She is survived by three daughters, Gabriela Buchmann and Erna Kezios, both of Las Vegas, and Charlotte Calfee of Peru, Ind.; five grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

Keith Lowell Dalton

Keith Lowell Dalton, 73, of Sandy Valley died Tuesday. He was born Nov. 25, 1930, in Iola, Kan. A resident for 27 years, he was a retired hotel porter and a World War II Army Air Corps veteran.

He is survived by his wife, Therese; two daughters, Sandra Conception of Spokane, Wash., and Susan Dalton of Las Vegas; one son, Keith Richard Dalton of Spokane; three stepsons, Robert Clement of Kansas, Andre Clement of Japan and Richard Clement of Las Vegas; John Dalton of Minnesota and Vince Dalton of California; 26 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

A memorial service will be 3 p.m. Saturday in Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave.

Gary Doyle Dutson

Gary Doyle Dutson, 73, of Las Vegas died Saturday in Las Vegas. He was born June 5, 1931, in Logan, Utah. A resident for 13 years, he was a payroll manager at UCLA.

He is survived by his domestic partner, Garry R. Rumery of Las Vegas; four brothers, Gaylen Dutson and Wando Kent Dutson, both of Las Vegas, Charles L. Dutson of Oregon and Brent V. Dutson of Reno; and four sisters, Uzona V. Holm of Idaho, Zayle V. Magnessno of Washington state, Lynne V. Clay of Utah and Patricia K. Wilde of Wyoming.

Visitation is scheduled one hour prior to a 10 a.m. service Friday in Bunkers Mortuary, 925 Las Vegas Blvd. North. Burial will be in Logan.

Grace Victoria Fox

Grace Victoria Fox, 98, of Las Vegas died Monday in Las Vegas. A homemaker, she was born Aug. 13, 1906, in Arkansas.

She is survived by one son, Kenneth Fox; one daughter, Betty Curry; one sister, Eunice McDonald; four grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.

No local services are scheduled. Burial will be in Arizona. Desert Memorial Cremation and Burial Society, 1111 Las Vegas Blvd. North, is handling arrangements.

Julian Gomez

Julian Gomez, 58, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in Las Vegas. He was born Jan. 9, 1946, in Gilland, Texas. A resident for one year, he was a master plumber.

He is survived by his wife, Linda; three daughters, Michele Gomez and Monica Gomez, both of Wichita Falls, Texas, and Marlena Gomez of Lubbock, Texas; one son, Michael Gomez of Lubbock; and three grandchildren.

Visitation is scheduled one hour prior to a 7 p.m service Friday in Palm Mortuary, 7400 W. Cheyenne Ave.

Leland Dwight Huffaker

Leland Dwight Huffaker, 82, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in Las Vegas. He was born Jan. 10, 1922, in Broken Bow, Neb. A resident for 39 years, he was a retired casino slot floor manager and a World War II Navy veteran.

He is survived by his wife, Norma Jean; one son, Larry Huffaker of Las Vegas; and one grandchild.

Visitation is scheduled 5-7 p.m. today in Palm Mortuary, 1325 N. Main St. Additional visitation is scheduled one hour prior to an 11 a.m. service Friday in the LDS Palora Relief Society Room.

JoAnne Kepford

JoAnne Kepford, 73, of Las Vegas died Monday in Las Vegas. She was born July 19, 1931, in Iowa. A resident for six years, she was a homemaker.

She is survived by her husband, Vern; one son, Gregory; and one sister, Janice.

Jack P. Linn

Jack P. Linn, 85, of Las Vegas died Monday in a local hospital. He was born Sept. 13, 1918, in Los Angeles. A resident for 10 years, he was a retired salesman and regional manager for a printing firm and a World War II Navy veteran in the submarine service.

He is survived by two sons, Robert A. Linn of Del Mar, Calif., and Lawrence R. Linn of Cedar City, Utah; one daughter, Samy Linn of Las Vegas; one stepson, Bill Babcock of Barcelona, Spain; and five grandchildren.

Robert Dale MacDonald

Robert Dale MacDonald, 57, of Las Vegas died Aug. 8 in Las Vegas. He was born March 31, 1947, in California. A resident for 30 years, he was a baker.

He is survived by his wife, Kollene Courtemanche; and one brother, Kenneth MacDonald.

John Mette

John Mette, 69, of Las Vegas died Monday in a local hospital. He was born July 30, 1935, in the Bronx, N.Y. A resident for 24 years, he was a financial planner and a Korean War Army veteran.

He is survived by his wife, Denia; and one brother, Don C. Mette of Jacksonville, Fla.

Dorothy Marie Peters

Dorothy Marie Peters, 91, of Las Vegas died Monday in a local hospital. She was born Feb. 27, 1913, in Eureka, Calif. A resident for three years, she was a homemaker.

She is survived by one daughter, Charlene Huston of Las Vegas; three grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

Graveside services will be 11 a.m. Friday in Palm Valley View Memorial Park. Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave., is handling arrangements.

Daniel Rodriguez

Daniel Rodriguez, 76, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in a local hospital. He was born Sept. 21, 1927, in Havana. A resident for 42 years, he was a retired hotel assistant maitre d', wrote for the Las Vegas Sun in the 1970s and was a member of the Culinary Union.

He is survived by his wife, Rosina; two sons, Daniel Rodriguez Jr. of Miami and Albert Rodriguez of Las Vegas; one daughter, Rosalynd Alatorre of Tucson; one sister, Rosa Rodriguez of Miami; and two grandchildren.

Visitation will continue until a 7 p.m. service today in Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave.

Wally Von Rostas

Wally Von Rostas, 81, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in a local hospital. She was born May 1, 1923, in Latvia. A resident for 40 years, she was a retired medical secretary and a member of the Musicians Union.

She is survived by one daughter, Inara Bandt of Las Vegas; three grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Zolene Rowell, 61, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in Las Vegas. She was born Feb. 10, 1943, in New York. A resident for nine years, she was a member of the Buffalo Youth and Young Adult Society at Doolittle Senior Center.

She is survived by three sons, Lamarr Rowell, Solomon Jeral Garner and Skyler John Garner, all of Las Vegas; three brothers; one sister; and three grandchildren.

Deborah Lynn Schmidhuber

Deborah Lynn Schmidhuber, 54, of Las Vegas died Sunday in Las Vegas. She was born Oct. 19, 1949, in Fargo, N.D. A resident for 35 years, she was a telephone operator.

She is survived by her husband, Manfred; her mother, Ardis Mavina; and two brothers, Edward Finley and Scott Finley.

A memorial service will be 11 a.m. Saturday at the LDS Eastridge Ward on Temple View Street. Desert Memorial Cremation and Burial Society, 1111 Las Vegas Blvd. North, is handling arrangements.

Annie Lee South

Annie Lee South, 68, of North Las Vegas died Friday in a local hospice. She was born Aug. 23, 1935, in St. Joseph, La. A resident for 25 years, she was a homemaker and a church usher.

She is survived by her husband, Louis; four daughters, Loesther Jones, Johnny Hansbrough, Sandra Jacobs and Alana Hansbrough, nine sons, Ernest Hansbrough, Vernon Hansbrough, Henry Hansbrough, Donald Hansbrough, Kavin Hansbrough, Bobbi Hansbrough, Juan Hansbrough, Ronnie Turner and Derrick Hansbrough, one brother, Bobby Turner, and five sisters, Lucille Poole, Elmira Fields, Luevenia Turner, Helen White and Inez Addison, all of Las Vegas; 43 grandchildren; and 30 great-grandchildren.

Visitation is scheduled 1-7 p.m. Friday in Thomas and Jones Funeral Home, 310 Foremaster Lane. Services will be 11 a.m. Saturday in New Light Missionary Baptist Church, 1165 Lawry Ave. Burial will follow in Woodlawn Cemetery.

Greta Sucher

Greta Sucher, 91, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in a local care center. She was born Oct. 31, 1912, in Kirchain, Kreis Marburg, Germany. A resident for one year, she was a retired seamstress in fashion design.

She is survived by her husband, Alfred; one daughter, Evelyn Kavana of Las Vegas; one brother, Ernest Stern of New Jersey; and one grandchild.

Services will be 10 a.m. Friday in Palm Mortuary, 7400 W. Cheyenne Ave.

Richard M. Thomas, 58, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in Las Vegas. He was born July 24, 1946, in California. A resident for 10 years, he was a general laborer, a Navy veteran and a member of Alcoholics Anonymous.

He is survived by his mother, Wanda; and one brother, Stephen.

Pamela Whitner

Pamela Whitner, 45, of Henderson died Friday in a California hospital. She was born April 15, 1959, and was a professional clown named "Flutterby the Clown."

She is survived by one stepdaughter, Leslie Shoults-Godinez of Vista, Calif.; her parents, Don and Donna Whitner of Maumee, Ohio; one brother, Stephen Whitner of Cleveland; two sisters, Cheryl Whitner of Oceanside, Calif., and Cathy Smith of Sylvania, Ohio; and two grandchildren.

Henry Williams, 76, of Henderson died Tuesday in a local hospital. He was born Feb. 19, 1928, in New York City. A resident for nine years, he was a retired state government director of rehabilitation, a Korean War Army veteran and a member of One Hundred Black Men in New York.

He is survived by his wife, Sheila A.; one daughter, Patricia Williams of Mount Vernon, N.Y.; one son, Henri Williams of Albany, N.Y.; one brother, Richard E. Williams of New York City; and four grandchildren.

Services were scheduled at 11 a.m. today in Palm Mortuary, 800 S. Boulder Highway, Henderson. Graveside services were scheduled at 1:20 p.m. today in Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Boulder City.

Inez Opal Wilson

Inez Opal Wilson, 82, of Las Vegas died Monday in a local hospital. She was born Jan. 14, 1922, in Wetumka, Okla. A resident for several years, she was a homemaker.

She is survived by one son, Michael Wilson; one daughter, Glenda Lisle; two brothers, Clyde Buckelew and Gary Buckelew; six grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
