CARSON CITY -- The state Health Division has received a federal grant of $6.4 million to continue to pay for services and prescription drugs for AIDS patients.
Gov. Kenny Guinn said Thursday that the state's AIDS Drug Assistance Program continues to serve clients without a waiting list. "Because of this important funding, no client goes without their HIV medication," Guinn said.
The division has 772 clients in this program, of which 596 are in Southern Nevada.
Clients also receive direct services such as case management.
The grant to the state is in addition to the more than $4.4 million Las Vegas received from the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services.
