Letter: Theft, vandalism at White House
Tuesday, Sept. 30, 2003 | 8:58 a.m.
This is reference to Marianne Lupo's Sept. 26 letter, in which she says a General Accounting Office report has vindicated the Clinton administration of charges leveled by the incoming Bush administration that the White House had been damaged.
She should read the GAO report, which states: "Damage, theft, vandalism and pranks occurred in the White House complex during the 2001 presidential transition."
She can read it for free at the GAO website, report GAO-02-360, June 7, 2002.
Since she thinks there's truth to the old saying, "Practice makes perfect," I guess she needs to practice lying to get it right.
