Goodman has doubts about pro ball in LV

Las Vegas Mayor Oscar Goodman said Tuesday he didn't think professional baseball would be coming to Las Vegas any time soon.
Major League Baseball could move the Montreal Expos after the season, and Las Vegas was floated as a possible new home.
Goodman said he didn't expect much to come of talk of trying to bring the Montreal Expos to Southern Nevada.
"I don't think we're going to have the Montreal Expos," said Goodman, speaking on the "DayONE Las Vegas" television program.
Goodman also addressed the Las Vegas 51s' call for a new stadium. The Triple-A team said Cashman Field in Las Vegas doesn't meet standards acceptable to its parent club, the Los Angeles Dodgers.
Goodman reiterated that he had no plans to support a new minor league ballpark and said he would not be held hostage by threats to move the team.
Team officials said they were considering a move to Henderson, if a new stadium was built there.
"That's fine," Goodman said.
