Mandalay names new hotel tower

Mandalay Resort Group has named its new 43-story room tower at Mandalay Bay "the Hotel" and says it will have the feel of a stand-alone property. Mandalay Bay and the Hotel will still be marketed under the same "Mandalay Bay" brand but the Hotel will have its own lobby and check-in desk as well as two restaurants to accommodate guests. One will be on the roof and the other will be in the lobby, which will also feature a bar and coffee lounge. The check-in area also will feature a separate VIP check-in. The lobby will connect to the main Mandalay Bay casino via a "grand promenade" that will end adjacent to the Mandalay Bay theater and its race and sports book. Guests still will be able to check into the Hotel at the main Mandalay Bay check-in. The reservation number for both hotels also will be the same. The $230 million, 1,125-suite tower is due to open th is fall.
