Eleven Las Vegas businesses and organizations have contributed more than $150,000 in cash to replace losses at the Salvation Army warehouse in North Las Vegas, which was destroyed by fire Aug. 4.
An estimated $250,000 in donated goods were lost in the blaze.
From its warehouse, the Salvation Army collected and distributed goods to 10 thrift stores throughout the valley.
The $5 million in thrift store sales, in turn, funded the Adult Rehabilitation Program and other programs sponsored in Clark County, said Charles Desiderio, director of development and marketing.
While insurance will cover the loss of the building, donated goods are not covered, he said.
Anyone wishing to donate merchandise to the Salvation Army may call 649-2374 or for donations of cash call 870-4430, ext. 23.
