Taming’ takes stage in Henderson

Contradiction and trickery are the keys to marital success in Shakespeare's early romantic comedy "The Taming of the Shrew," presented Saturday through Sunday at the outdoor Henderson Pavilion.

The humorous tale of a man's effort to tame his spoiled and hot-headed wife is part of the Arts Council of Henderson's 17th Nevada Shakespeare in the Park.

The Las Vegas Academy of Performing Arts is producing and directing the production.

Seventy-five high school students from the magnet school are participating as actors, technical production assistants and costume designers. Additionally, three guest actors will be featured.

Performances will be at 8 p.m. today and Saturday and 7 p.m. Sunday. The Green Show will begin one hour prior. Tickets are free, but must be picked up in advance. For tickets and more information call 221-7491.
