The North Las Vegas Planning Commission voted Wednesday night to approve final development plans and a special use permit for a heliapad for the proposed Meadows Hospital.
The hospital is planned for the northwest corner of Tropical Parkway and Losee Road but has been delayed for about a year because of studies needed to acquire funding. The private developers say they have now secured about $180 million in funding.
Now that financing is available and plans are approved, the hospital can begin the building permit process. Owner representative John McDonald said the 212-bed hospital should open in the fall of 2005. Medical office buildings and a parking garage are planned to accompany the hospital.
