Opening delayed

Spring Valley Hospital has delayed its opening until further notice. The hospital, at 5400 S. Rainbow Blvd., is awaiting a license from the Nevada State Health Division.

The hospital had to correct or complete some requirements before the license could be issued, which is required to admit patients.

"Such delays are not uncommon with a project of this magnitude, especially one that falls under state regulations," hospital spokeswoman Naomi Linardo said in a statement.

Hospital officials said they were uncertain what day or time the hospital would open. It had been scheduled to open Wednesday.
