Raymond Torres Amy

Raymond Torres Amy, 37, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in Las Vegas. He was born June 11, 1966, in Las Vegas. A resident for four years, he was a casino security officer.

He is survived by his father, Otniel T. Amy, his mother, Estelle, and one sister, Anilda Amy, all of California.

No local services are scheduled. Services will be in California. Garden Memorial Funeral Home, 3600 W. Vegas Drive, is handling arrangements.

Josephine H. DeMeo

Josephine H. DeMeo, 71, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in Las Vegas. She was born July 9, 1932, in Brooklyn, N.Y. A resident for 28 years, she was a homemaker.

She is survived by her husband, Louis C.; one daughter, Debbie DeMeo of Las Vegas; two sons, Louie DeMeo of Las Vegas and Kenneth Leota of Howell, N.J.; two stepdaughters, Matty DeMeo-Phillips of Henderson and Kathy Bandiero of Pahrump; two stepsons, Tony DeMeo of Pahrump and Louis C. DeMeo of Edison, N.J.; three brothers, John Hedge of Las Vegas and Eugene Hedge and Louis Hedge, both of New York; 13 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Visitation is scheduled 6-8 p.m. today in Palm Mortuary, 7400 W. Cheyenne Ave. Graveside services will be 10:40 a.m. Friday in Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Boulder City.

Donald G. Duran

Donald G. Duran, 57, of Las Vegas died Sunday in Las Vegas. He was born Oct. 3, 1945, in Arizona. A resident for 12 years, he was an Army veteran.

He is survived by two sons, Benjamin Duran and Donald G. Duran Jr.; and two grandchildren.

Visitation is scheduled one hour and 45 minutes prior to a 7:45 p.m. service at Nevada Funeral Service-Nevada Cremation or Burial Society, 2983 Fremont St.

Gerald F. Gellens

Gerald F. Gellens, 57, of Las Vegas died Saturday in Las Vegas. He was born April 19, 1946, in Fort Lauderdale, Fla. A resident for 27 years, he was a photographer at Portraits by Gellens and an Army veteran.

He is survived by his wife, Janet; one son, Jeremy, and one daughter, Tricia, both of Nevada; his mother, Jackie of Delaware; one sister, M'Lyn of California; and three grandchildren.

Graveside services will be 10 a.m. Monday in Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Boulder City. Nevada Funeral Service-Nevada Cremation or Burial Society, 2983 Fremont St., is handling arrangements.

Ruth Ann Hartman

Ruth Ann Hartman, 82, of Las Vegas died Sept. 23 in Las Vegas. She was born Oct. 26, 1920, in California. A resident for 10 years, she was a singer and an actress.

She is survived by one niece, Brooke Robson of Hemet, Calif.

Nevada Funeral Service, 2983 Fremont St., is handling private arrangements.

Benard Hawkins Jr.

Benard Hawkins Jr., 79, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in a local hospital. He was born Sept. 26, 1924, in Newellton, La. A resident for 52 years, he was a retired construction company president, World War II Navy veteran, president of Local 872 and a member of the Pilgrim Christian Society.

He is survived by his wife, Retha; three daughters, Flossie Christensen, Bonnie Smith Hawkins and Dolly Hawkins, and three sons, Benard Hawkins III, Billy Ray Hawkins and Freddie Joe Hawkins, all of Las Vegas; 10 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

Visitation is scheduled from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. Friday in Palm Mortuary, 1325 N. Main St. Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday in Greater Evergreen Missionary Baptist Church, 1915 Lexington St., followed by burial in Palm Valley View Mortuary.

Dolores 'Dee' Jenkins

Dolores "Dee" Jenkins, 63, of Henderson died Wednesday in Henderson. She was born Oct. 31, 1939, in Youngstown, Ohio. A resident for 23 years, she was a cashier.

She is survived by two daughters, Vicki Long of Henderson and Deborah Faraglia of Youngstown; three sons, Daniel Pore of Henderson and Christopher Pore and Tracy Pore, both of Las Vegas; one sister, Pamela Palumbo of Lowellville, Ohio; and 10 grandchildren.

Visitation is scheduled from 2 p.m. until 6 p.m. services Saturday in Palm Mortuary, 800 S. Boulder Highway, Henderson.

Patricia Marie Kitterman

Patricia Marie Kitterman, 67, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in Las Vegas. She was born Sept. 1, 1936, in Ohio. A resident for nine years, she was a cook.

She is survived by her husband of 42 years, Allan; three sons, Allan M. Kitterman Jr. of Medifee, Calif., and Mark A. Kitterman and Kristopher A. Kitterman, both of Gilbert, Ariz.; one daughter, Claudia Kitterman of Las Vegas; one sister, Barbara Kindel of Columbus, Ohio; and 12 grandchildren.

Visitation is scheduled one hour prior to 10 a.m. services Monday in the Christy/Harris LDS chapel, followed by burial in St. David, Ariz. Bunkers Mortuary, 925 Las Vegas Blvd. North, is handling arrangements.

The family suggests donations to the LDS Missionary Fund.

Jacqueline E. Rayer

Jacqueline E. Rayer, 83, of Henderson died Tuesday in a local care center. She was born April 6, 1920, in Nice, France. A resident for three years, she was a retired saleswoman.

She is survived by one daughter, Mary Lindsey of Washington; two sons, Scott Rayer of Henderson and Charles T. Rayer of California; and four grandchildren.

Maria Balaguis Santiago

Maria Balaguis Santiago, 79, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in Las Vegas. She was born Nov. 30, 1923, in the Philippines. A resident for five years, she was a storekeeper.

She is survived by four daughters, Monina Sidnoy, Miyuki Fukuyama and Marina Mikami, all of Japan, and Myrna Avilla of Las Vegas; four sons, Raul Santiago of Japan, Ruel Santiago of South Korea, Rolly Santiago of the Philippines and Lito Balaguis of Kuwait; and 12 grandchildren.

Services will be at 2 p.m., followed by visitation from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday in Nevada Funeral Service, 2983 Fremont St.

Jacqueline Schonholtz

Jacqueline "Jackie" Schonholtz, 37, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in a local hospital. She was born Nov. 26, 1965, in New York City. A resident for seven years, she was a clinical psychologist.

She is survived by her husband, Frank Ciccone of Las Vegas.

Graveside services will be held at 1 p.m. Friday in Emerson, N.J. King David Memorial Chapel, 2697 Eldorado Lane, is handling arrangements.

Sherry L. Slack

Sherry L. Slack, 39, of Las Vegas died Saturday in a local hospital. She was born April 11, 1964, in Delhi, La. A resident for 39 years, she was a custodian supervisor for Las Vegas.

She is survived by her fiance, Vance Myles, one son, Tywon D. Overton, one daughter, Renisha S. Myles, her mother, Regina McDowell, and her father, William T. Slack Sr., all of North Las Vegas; three brothers, William T. Slack of North Las Vegas, Willie Lee Slack of Las Vegas and Willie C. Jackson of Texas; and five sisters, Reassie Mae Love, Patricia B. Lovette and Shirley Denise Smith, all of Las Vegas, Gladys Marie Banks-Cole of Henderson and Mary Lou Baylock of Chicago.

Visitation is scheduled from noon to 6 p.m. Friday in Tried Stone Baptist Church, 621 W. Carey Ave. A wake will follow from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday in Tried Stone Church. Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday in True Love Missionary Baptist Church, 1941 N. H St., followed by burial in Woodlawn Cemetery. American Burial and Cremation Services, 310 Foremaster Lane, is handling arrangements.

John E. Sturm

John E. Sturm, 92, of Las Vegas died Sunday in Las Vegas. He was born Jan. 8, 1911, in Atlanta, Kan. A resident for 54 years, he was a retired brakeman for Union Pacific Railroad.

He is survived by one daughter, Dianne M. Kunkel of Reno; one son, John E. Sturm Jr. of Tucson; four grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

Services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday in Palm Mortuary, 1600 S. Jones Blvd., followed by burial in Woodlawn Cemetery.

Sherry Lee Vincent

Sherry Lee Vincent, 54, of Las Vegas died Wednesday in a local hospital. She was born Aug. 26, 1949, in Beckley, W.Va. A resident for 14 years, she was a schoolteacher.

She is survived by her husband, Charles; her mother and stepfather, Mary Louise and Orville Goplen, both of Las Vegas; and one brother, Alan Bach of Melbourne, Fla.

A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday in Palm Mortuary, 7400 W. Cheyenne Ave.

Rose Wall

Rose Wall, 71, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in a local hospice. She was born Oct. 11, 1931, in Genoa, Italy. A resident for seven years, she was a homemaker.

She is survived by her husband, James; and one sister, Renata Pitzalis of Italy.

Visitation is scheduled from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Friday in Palm Mortuary, 1600 S. Jones Blvd. Graveside services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday in Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave.

Kurt Weisner

Kurt Weisner, 87, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in a local care center. He was born Oct. 30, 1915, in Essen, Germany. A resident for 20 years, he owned and operated a scrap metal company, and was a World War II Army veteran.

He is survived by two sons, Ronald Weisner of Las Vegas and Kenneth Weisner; one sister, Anneliese Mendel of Laguna Hills, Calif.; seven grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday in Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave. King David Memorial Chapel, 2697 Eldorado Lane, is handling arrangements.
