Davis Coy Charlton

Davis Coy Charlton, 57, of North Las Vegas died Sunday in a local care center. He was born Aug. 31, 1946, in Caldwell, Idaho. A resident for 41 years, he was a retired electronics technician and a Vietnam War Air Force veteran.

He is survived by his wife, Mary; one son, David Charles Charlton of Las Vegas; his parents, George and Naomi Charlton; two brothers, Walter Charlton and Bruce Charlton; one sister, Nancy Crandall; and one grandchild.

Visitation is scheduled 6:30 p.m. Thursday in Twin Lakes Baptist Church, 5700 Vegas Drive. Desert Memorial Cremation and Burial Society, 1111 Las Vegas Blvd. North, is handling arrangements.

Helen Cheszar

Helen Cheszar, 85, of Las Vegas died Friday in a local hospital. She was born Jan. 23, 1918, in Endicott, N.Y. A resident for two years, she was a homemaker.

She is survived by one daughter, Helen Malecki of Las Vegas; one son, Joseph Chaszar of Nazareth, Pa.; three grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Palm Mortuary, 1600 S. Jones Blvd., is handling arrangements.

Lazara M. 'Pipo' Fernandez

Lazara M. "Pipo" Fernandez, 67, of Las Vegas died Saturday in a local hospital. He was born Oct. 28, 1936, in Havana. A resident for 16 years, he was a veteran of the National Guard.

He is survived by four sons, Luis M. Fernandez, Lazaro Fernandez, Rick Fernandez and Todd Fernandez; one daughter, Amy Jo Fernandez; and nine grandchildren.

Merlin Friedman

Merlin Friedman, 63, of Las Vegas died Thursday in a local hospital. He was born June 20, 1940, in Minneapolis. A resident for seven years, he was a retired showroom manager in the lighting department.

He is survived by his wife, Lois; two sons, James A. Friedman of Golden Valley, Minn., and Jeffrey S. Friedman of Las Vegas; one daughter, Elisa D. Friedman of Las Vegas; one brother, Arden Friedman of St. Louis; one sister, Elaine Weber of Minneapolis; and one grandson.

A memorial service was scheduled Sunday in Affordable Cremation and Burial Service, 2457 N. Decatur Blvd.

Edwin J. Hindhaugh

Edwin J. Hindhaugh, 86, of Las Vegas died Friday in Las Vegas. He was born Dec. 3, 1916, in England. A resident for many years, he was an aerospace supervisor.

He is survived by his wife, Barbara; and one daughter, Cindy Mathews of Las Vegas.

No local services are scheduled. Burial will be in Tucson. Hites Funeral Services, 438 W. Sunset Road, Henderson, is handling arrangements.

Kathryn M. Kaiser

Kathryn M. Kaiser, 86, of Las Vegas died Saturday in Las Vegas. She was born Oct. 23, 1917, in Missouri. A resident for 40 years, she was a financial secretary for Southwest Gas and a real estate broker.

She is survived by two sons, James R. Kaiser of Las Vegas and Kenneth Kaiser of Coquille, Ore.; one sister, Marian Price of Edmonds, Wash.; and five grandchildren.

Services will be 3:30 p.m. Thursday in Davis Funeral Home, 2127 W. Charleston Blvd.

Audna M. Lang

Audna M. Lang, 89, of Henderson died Sunday in Henderson. She was born Aug. 11, 1914, in St. Louis. A resident for 40 years, she was a head cashier in the gaming industry.

She is survived by one daughter, Audna T. Lang of Las Vegas.

Frances E. Lyman

Frances E. Lyman, 82, of Las Vegas died Friday in Las Vegas. She was born Sept. 19, 1921, in Washington state. A resident for 40 years, she was a casino cashier.

She is survived by two sons, Jerry Lyman and Mike Lyman; one daughter, Judy Myers; three brothers, Harry Boures, Bill Boures and Ronnie Boures; two sisters, Betty Caria and Dorothy Ramey; seven grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Desert Memorial Cremation and Burial Society, 1111 Las Vegas Blvd. North, is handling private arrangements.

Harold C. Millis

Harold C. Millis, 90, of North Las Vegas died Friday in a local health care center. He was born Jan. 18, 1913, in Elba, N.Y. A resident for 30 years, he was a retired Air Force master sergeant and World War II, Korean War and Vietnam War veteran.

He is survived by three sons, Jeffrey Millis of North Las Vegas and Dennis Szalla and David Szalla, both of Las Vegas; one daughter, Ilda Mae Palatrineri of North Las Vegas.

Services will be 11 a.m. Saturday in Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave. Burial will follow in Palm Valley View Memorial Park. Palm Mortuary, 1325 N. Main St., is handling arrangements.

Samuel F. Pell Jr.

Samuel F. Pell Jr., 96, of North Las Vegas died Friday in a local hospital. He was born July 8, 1907, in City Island, N.Y. A resident for 53 years, he was a retired county government building inspector, a member of the Knights of Columbus and the Elks.

He is survived by one daughter, Mary Ann Shankle of North Las Vegas; one son, Samuel F. Pell III of Moapa; one sister, Beatrice Dubay of Stockton, Calif.; three grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Visitation is scheduled one hour prior to a 1 p.m. service Thursday in Palm Mortuary, 1325 N. Main St. Graveside services will follow at 2 p.m. Thursday in Woodlawn Cemetery.

Hospicio P. Ramos

Hospicio P. Ramos, 98, of North Las Vegas died Saturday in a local health care center. He was born May 5, 1905, in the Philippines. A resident for two years, he was a retired contractor.

He is survived by two daughters, Linda Segundo of North Las Vegas and Betty Plaza of Henderson; two sons, Arthur Ramos of Las Vegas and Joseph Sena of Porterville, Calif.; 18 grandchildren; 56 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.

Visitation is scheduled one hour prior to a 6 p.m. service Wednesday in Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave. Burial will be in California.

George P. Rasqui

George P. Rasqui, 89, of Las Vegas died Saturday in a local convalescent hospital. He was born July 30, 1914, in Chicago. A resident for 58 years, he was a retired dentist, a World War II Army Air Corps veteran, a former editor, vice president and president of the Nevada State Dental Society, a fourth degree member of Knights of Columbus and former president of the Las Vegas Lions Club.

He is survived by his wife, Dorothea Katsaros Rasqui; two daughters, Pamela Rasqui Couch and Joyce Rasqui Perata, both of Las Vegas; and one granddaughter.

A memorial service will be 6:30 p.m. Thursday in Palm Mortuary, 7400 W. Cheyenne Ave. Palm Mortuary, 1325 N. Main St., is handling arrangements.

Madeline Saladino

Madeline Saladino, 76, of Las Vegas died Monday in Las Vegas. She was born July 20, 1927, in Brooklyn, N.Y. A resident for eight years, she was a retired seamstress.

She is survived by two sons, Thomas Saladino and Robert Saladino; two daughters, Susane Femia and Diane Kraft; and five grandchildren.

Visitation will continue until 7 p.m. today in Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave. Services will be 10 a.m. Wednesday in Palm Chapel, Eastern. Burial will follow in Palm Valley View Memorial Park.

Concepcion Smith

Concepcion Smith, 68, of Las Vegas died Saturday in a local hospital. She was born March 7, 1935, in Presnillo, Mexico. A resident for 33 years, she was a homemaker and a member of the Officers Club.

She is survived by two daughters, Martie Guier and Maria McDevitt, both of Las Vegas; one sister, Bertha Valadez of Mexico; four grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Visitation is scheduled 9 a.m. until a 2 p.m. service Wednesday in Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave. Burial will follow at 3 p.m. Wednesday in Palm Valley View Memorial Park.

June Westbrook

June Westbrook, 72, of Las Vegas died Sunday in a local hospital. She was born July 14, 1931, in Jonesboro, Ark. A resident for five years, she was a retired owner-operator of a boat and motor sales business.

She is survived by her husband, Bill; one son, William Westbrook Jr. of Las Vegas; one daughter, Pam Westbrook of England; one brother, Ron Green of Palm Springs, Calif.; and three grandchildren.

Visitation is scheduled 4-6 p.m. today in Palm Mortuary, 7400 W. Cheyenne Ave.

Scott E. Wilburn

Scott E. Wilburn, 44, of Las Vegas died Saturday in Las Vegas. He was born April 25, 1959, in Chillicothe, Ohio. A resident for 12 years, he was a painter in the construction industry.

He is survived by his parents, Darlene and Robert D. Wilburn, and one sister, Darla Kelly, all of Las Vegas; one brother, Dean Wilburn of Greenfield, Ind.; and his grandmother, Ollie Wilburn of Frankfort, Ohio.
