Ernst & Young announced today that it opened a Las Vegas office to pursue opportunities in the city's booming gaming, real estate and hospitality markets.

Twenty-year E&Y veteran Peter M. Zofrea was named Las Vegas managing partner and will relocate from Orange County in California.

Also joining the office is veteran gaming industry accountant Thomas M. Roche, who was named gaming industry leader for the Pacific Southwest Area.

Roche had served as Deloitte's National Gaming Industry Leader and as the co-head of Andersen's Gaming Industry Practice in Las Vegas. From 1989 through 1993, Roche served as one of the three members of the State Gaming Control Board.
