Metro seeks witness to shooting outside Hard Rock Cafe
Wednesday, May 14, 2003 | 11:40 a.m.
Metro's gang crimes unit are still seeking witnesses to a shooting early Monday at the Hard Rock Cafe that left at least three people with minor injuries.
Sgt. Dave Stansbury said two women got into an argument inside the restaurant, which was hosting a hip hop party. They were asked to leave. A moment later a man walked in holding a semi-automatic handgun, looked around and left through the front door.
Witnesses then heard gunfire coming from the parking lot. Several people fired 15 to 30 shots toward Hamburger Mary's, across the street from the Hard Rock. According to witnesses, as many as five people were shooting guns, and the gunfire seemed to be directed toward a white mid-'80s Cadillac in the parking lot of Hamburger Mary's, Stansbury said.
One suspect is described as a black man wearing a Pittsburgh Steelers jacket, dark pants and a black baseball cap. He is about 5-feet-10 to 6 feet tall and 175 pounds, police said.
Another suspect is also a black man wearing a white T-shirt with baggy jeans and black shoes. He was thin and about 6 feet tall.
A third suspect was seen with the other two, but police have no description of him.
Anyone with information on this incident is asked to call the gang crimes unit at 229-33009 or Crime Stoppers at 385-5555.
