Dale Edward Allen

Dale Edward Allen, 46, of Las Vegas died Saturday in a local hospital. He was born Nov. 25, 1956, in Michigan. A resident for 17 years, he was a plumber.

He is survived by his wife, Dorothy; one son, Johnathan Allen; one daughter, Heather Allen; and three brothers, Charles Allen, Glen Allen and Garnet Allen.

Visitation is scheduled one hour prior to a 4 p.m. service today in Desert Memorial Cremation and Burial Society, 1111 Las Vegas Blvd. North.

Charles G. Burdett

Charles G. Burdett, 91, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in Las Vegas. He was born April 21, 1912, in Ogden, Utah. A resident for 25 years, he was a warehouse supplier and a World War II Navy veteran.

He is survived by one daughter, Marianne Schuster of Las Vegas; one son, Robert Burdett of Omaha, Neb.; one brother, Ren Burdett, and one sister, Barbara Stephens, both of Utah; five grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Visitation is scheduled 4-8 p.m. Monday in Davis Paradise Valley Funeral Home, 6200 S. Eastern Ave. Services will be 10 a.m. Tuesday in Holy Family Catholic Church, 4490 Mountain Vista St. Burial will follow at noon Tuesday in Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Boulder City.

Charles R. Compton

Charles R. Compton, 55, of Las Vegas died Thursday in a local hospice. He was born Jan. 20, 1948, in Waxahachie, Texas. A resident for 10 years, he was a Ready Mix driver and a member of Teamsters Local 631.

He is survived by his wife, Kathy; one daughter, Heather Ornstein of Golden, Colo.; one son, Kelly Compton of Henderson; his mother, Doris Compton of Las Vegas; one sister, Janette Smith of Longmont, Colo.; one brother, James Compton of Wildomar, Calif.; and one grandchild.

A service will be 5 p.m. Saturday in Palm Mortuary, 1600 S. Jones Blvd. Palm Mortuary, 1325 N. Main St., is handling arrangements.

Thelma Elizabeth Crebs

Thelma Elizabeth Crebs, 93, of Las Vegas died Wednesday in Las Vegas. She was born July 10, 1909, in Rebersburg, Pa. A resident for 25 years, she was a retired schoolteacher and a World War II veteran of the WACS.

She is survived by two brothers, Doyle Crebs and Myles Crebs, both of Pennsylvania; and one sister, Violet Crebs of Las Vegas.

Davis Paradise Valley Funeral Home, 6200 S. Eastern Ave., is handling private arrangements.

Zimbo DeSouza

Zimbo DeSouza, 57, of Las Vegas died Tuesday. He was born Feb. 17, 1946, in Rio De Janeiro, Brazil. A resident for 13 years, he was a carpenter.

He is survived by his wife, Sonia; two daughters, Monica DeSouza-Gray and Andrea Andrade DeSouza, both of Las Vegas; and two grandchildren.

Visitation is scheduled 2-7 p.m. Saturday in Palm Mortuary, 1600 S. Jones Blvd.

Bernard Ezor

Bernard Ezor, 66, of Henderson died Tuesday in Henderson. He was born Jan. 9, 1937, in Pittsburgh. A resident for 37 years, he was a general manager for a car leasing company and a Korean War Army veteran.

He is survived by his wife, Helen M.; two daughters, Noreen Ezor and Joeleen Ezor, and five sons, Bruce Ezor, Blake Ezor, Brian Ezor, Bert Ezor and Brad Ezor, all of Henderson; and five grandchildren.

Mass was scheduled at 11 a.m. today in St. Thomas More Catholic Church, 130 N. Pecos Road, Henderson. Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave., handled arrangements.

Debra Goldberg

Debra Goldberg, 67, of Las Vegas died Thursday in a local hospital. She was born July 15, 1935, in Brooklyn, N.Y. A resident for 11 years, she was a homemaker.

She is survived by her husband, Irwin; one daughter, Beth Lit of Freehold, N.J.; two sons, Brian Goldberg of Mount Arlington, N.J., and Steven Goldberg of Columbia, Md.; one sister, Judith Alrick of New York City; and six grandchildren.

Graveside services were scheduled at 2:30 p.m. today in King David Memorial Chapel and Cemetery, 2697 Eldorado Lane.

Viviana S. Harville

Viviana S. Harville, 5 months, of Las Vegas died Wednesday in a local hospital. She was born Dec. 7, 2002, in Las Vegas.

She is survived by her parents, Ada L. and Stefan R. Harville of Las Vegas; three sisters, Leilani, Maliah and Gloria; and her grandparents, Ada Ortiz and Doris Harville, both of Las Vegas, and Luis Hernandez of Hayward, Calif.

Visitation is scheduled 4-7 p.m. Saturday in Palm Mortuary, 7400 W. Cheyenne Ave. Services will be 2 p.m. Sunday in Palm Chapel, Cheyenne. Burial will follow in Palm Memorial Park, Northwest, 6701 N. Jones Blvd.

Scott D. Hill

Scott D. Hill, 53, died April 17. A former Las Vegas resident, he was born May 31, 1949, in Bloomington, Ill.

He is survived by one sister, Paula Hill, and two brothers, Richard Hill and Eric Hill, all of Las Vegas.

A memorial service will be 1 p.m. Saturday in Palm Mortuary, 7400 W. Cheyenne Ave. Burial will follow in Palm Memorial Park. Palm Mortuary, 1325 N. Main St., is handling arrangements.

Alice R. Howard

Alice R. Howard, 86, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in a local hospital. She was born April 18, 1917, in Columbus, Ga. A resident for 45 years, she was a homemaker.

She is survived by two sons, W. Bucky Howard Jr. of Las Vegas and Michael Howard of Bossier City, La.; one brother, Jerry Kernodle of Columbus, Ga.; two sisters, Myra Latham of Las Vegas and Glennie Lightner of Columbus.

Visitation is scheduled 30 minutes prior to a 3:30 p.m. service Saturday in Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave. Burial will follow in Palm Valley View Memorial Park. Palm Mortuary, 1600 S. Jones Blvd., is handling arrangements.

Dixie M. Jackson

Dixie M. Jackson, 78, of Henderson died Wednesday in Henderson. She was born Feb. 24, 1925, in Muskogee, Okla. A resident for 38 years, she was a retired schoolteacher.

She is survived by her husband, Dawson L.; two daughters, Debbie Fitzgerald and Jenny Runge, both of Henderson; one brother, Jack Gayer of Muskogee; five grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

Services will be 4 p.m. Saturday in Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave. Burial will follow in Palm Valley View Memorial Park.

Janet McCue

Janet McCue, 67, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in Las Vegas. She was born Nov. 23, 1935, in Pennsylvania. A resident for three years, she was a fashion editor.

She is survived by her husband, Harry D. West; one brother, Ben McCue; and one sister, Suzzanne Croissant.

Charles F. Messer

Charles F. Messer, 61, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in Las Vegas. He was born Nov. 26, 1941, in Boston. A resident for 12 years, he was a Clark County School District technician, a Vietnam War Air Force veteran, a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars and Disabled American Veterans.

He is survived by his wife, Mary; two daughters, Shannon Jenness of Colorado Springs, Colo., and Yvonne Libre of Kona, Hawaii; two sons, Donovan Messer of Sardinia, Italy, and Walter Vinson of Las Vegas; two sisters, Lucinda Faerber and Patricia Wheeler, both of Kentucky; nine grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Visitation was scheduled from 1 p.m. until a 3 p.m. service today in Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave. Graveside services will be noon Wednesday in Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Boulder City.

John H. Nickel

John H. Nickel, 87, of Las Vegas died Wednesday in Henderson. A business owner, he was born Feb. 16, 1916, in Everton, Mo.

He is survived by his wife, Ann; one son, Richard Evans of Henderson; two grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

Lester Harold Nix

Lester Harold Nix, 74, of Las Vegas died Thursday in Las Vegas. He was born Jan. 2, 1929, in Jasper, Ala. A resident for 28 years, he was a World War II Army veteran.

He is survived by his wife, Ericka; three daughters, Tricia Nix and Deborah Rios, both of Las Vegas, and Jean Ann Bell of Coos Bay, Ore.; one brother, Eugene Nix of Denver; and nine grandchildren.

Carl Rumpler

Carl Rumpler, 76, of Las Vegas died Wednesday in Las Vegas. He was born Jan. 4, 1927, in New York. A resident for many years, he did electrical work for a telephone company and a member of American Modelers Association.

He is survived by his wife, Maryjane.

No local services are scheduled. Burial will be in New York state. Hites Funeral Services, 438 W. Sunset Road, Henderson, is handling arrangements.

Bobby Joe Saxton

Bobby Joe Saxton, 65, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in a local hospital. He was born May 22, 1937, in Mississippi. A resident for 45 years, he was a retired business agent for a construction company and a member of Local 159.

He is survived by three brothers, Charles, Sammy and Jimmy.

Fredricka Pauline Strickland

Fredricka Pauline Strickland, 83, of Las Vegas died Monday in a local care center. A homemaker, she was born Oct. 6, 1919, in Oklahoma.

She is survived by one daughter, Sherlene Collins of Las Vegas; four grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

Visitation will continue until 6 p.m. today in Davis Funeral Home, 2127 W. Charleston Blvd. Graveside services will be 10 a.m. Saturday in Paradise Memorial Gardens, 6200 S. Eastern Ave.

Janet Tanenhaus

Janet Tanenhaus, 71, of Las Vegas and Endicott, N.Y., died Tuesday in a local hospital. She was born March 3, 1932, in Endicott. A Las Vegas resident for four years, she was a homemaker.

She is survived by her husband, Sanford; two daughters, Enid Tanenhaus of New York City and Betsy Tanenhaus of Albany, N.Y.; one son, Peter Tanenhaus of Vestal, N.Y.; her mother, Josephine Wilber of Binghamton, N.Y.; and one brother, Thomas Wilber of Myrtle Beach, S.C.

Clovia A. Thorp

Clovia A. Thorp, 44, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in Las Vegas. A resident for 14 years, she was born Dec. 28, 1958, in Galveston, Texas.

She is survived by her husband, Fred; two sons, Kevin Thorp and Ryan Thorp, and her mother, Virginia, all of Las Vegas; four brothers; four sisters including Yolanda Smith of Texas and Dianna Rossi of Las Vegas; her grandfather, Jesse Castilla Sr. of Texas; and one grandchild.

Visitation is scheduled one hour prior to a 2 p.m. service Saturday in Davis Paradise Valley Funeral Home, 6200 S. Eastern Ave. A private burial will follow.

Jeanne Traasdahl

Jeanne Traasdahl, 80, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in a local hospice. She was born May 4, 1923, in Hot Springs, Ark. A resident for 68 years, she was a retired Clark County School District teacher and a 1941 Las Vegas High School graduate.

She is survived by one daughter, Joyce Bragg of Sumter, S.C.; two sons, Rick Traasdahl and Bradford Traasdahl, both of Las Vegas; one sister, Joyce Braun of Monterey Park, Calif.; one brother, Jack Wheeler of Pittsburgh; six grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

Visitation is scheduled noon until 1 p.m. services Monday in the LDS Lakes Stake Center, 9825 W. Desert Inn Road. Burial will follow in Palm Valley View Memorial Park, 7600 S. Eastern Ave.

Florence 'Flo' Wappel, 68, of Henderson died Wednesday in a local hospital. She was born Aug. 31, 1934, in East St. Louis, Ill. A resident for 24 years, she was a retired owner-operator of a floral shop.

She is survived by her husband, Joseph; one daughter, Janet Vessey of Boulder City; three daughters, Joseph Frank Wappel of Rockville, Mo., David William Wappel of Henderson and Anthony John Wappel of Fayetteville, Ark.; and three grandchildren.

Visitation was scheduled until 3 p.m. today in Palm Mortuary, 800 S. Boulder Highway, Henderson. Graveside services were scheduled at 3:30 p.m. today in Boulder City Cemetery, 501 Adams Blvd.
