Letter: Senators step up to protect canyon from developers
Thursday, May 1, 2003 | 8:47 a.m.
In an era of acrimonious partisan bickering, it is refreshing to see our U.S. senators put aside partisan differences to protect the spectacular area of Red Rock Canyon.
Patriotism, like charity, starts at home. It is our patriotic duty to protect the wonderful natural patrimony this country has to offer.
Protecting places like Red Rock for future generations is not just a "nice thing to do." Instead, it is the duty of all Americans.
Unfortunately, individuals like Rhodes couldn't care less about discharging their duty to their communities.
